The word ‘Satsang’ is a compound word of ‘Sat’ and ‘Sang’ meaning ‘Truth’ and ‘Commune’, and in the truest masonic spirit, when conjoined ‘Good and Virtuous Company.’

Satsang can mean being in the company of a guru, or in company with an assembly of persons who listen to, talk about, and assimilate the truth. Traditionally, it involves listening to or reading
scriptures, reflecting on, discussing

and assimilating their meaning, meditating on the source of these words, and bringing their meaning into one’s daily life. Bhaja govindam Verse 9 says:
Sat-sangatve nissangatvam nissangatve nirmohatvam
Nirmohatve nishchala-tattvam nishchala-tattve jivanmuktih

Meaning, good and virtuous company (Satsang) gives rise to non-attachment. With freedom from delusion, one feels the changeless reality. Experiencing that changeless reality, one attains liberation in this life. This has been the premise and the founding principles on which Lodge Satsang has been founded.

Lodge Satsang No. 396 held its 3rd (153rd) Regular Meeting on 07.07.2026.

The evening witnessed two significant ceremonies. Bro. P.V. Govind was initiated into the mysteries and privileges of Freemasonry, and Bro. Jagadish Balakrishnan was passed to the Second Degree.

The Lodge congratulates the Worshipful Master, his team of officers, and the Brethren for conducting both ceremonies with ease and in a smooth and dignified manner. Warm congratulations are also extended to the two Brethren on these important milestones in their Masonic journey.

The brethren of Lodge Satsang No. 396 were present at the Annual Investiture Meeting of the Regional Grand

It was a proud and significant occasion for the Craft in the region, and the Brethren of Lodge Satsang were pleased to be in attendance and to witness this important milestone of the RGLSI.

Lodge Satsang No. 396 participated in the 8th edition of the Lodge Srinivasa Gopala Masonic Quiz Competition with a team comprising W Bro. Jeyaprakash Arasu Shankher, Bro. Ajay Chandar, and Bro. Midhun.

The team delivered an excellent performance and were adjudged Champions of the Quiz. Notably, this marks the fourth time that Lodge Satsang has won the competition, having also maintained the distinction of participating in the quiz every year.

The Lodge congratulates the winning team for this commendable achievement and takes pride in yet another moment of recognition for Lodge Satsang.

On 01.02.2026, Lodge Satsang No. 396 held its first meeting following the Installation of the new team of officers. The meeting was attended by the Ruling Master of Lodge Chennai No.317, W Bro B.Lakshman Prasad!

During the meeting, Bro. Saran Sivakumar was passed to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason in a solemn and well-conducted ceremony. The Lodge congratulates the Worshipful Master and his team of officers for carrying out the ceremony with dignity and care.

The Brethren also extend their warm congratulations to Bro. Saran Sivakumar on attaining the Sublime Degree of Master Mason and wish him continued light and progress in Masonry.

On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, Lodge Satsang Masonic Charitable Trust, Lodge Satsang No.396 and Lodge Wisdom No.477 had the honour of the National Flag being unfurled by W Bro Raghavan Vasudevan, Worshipful the Assistant Regional Grand Master of the RGLSI.

The ceremony witnessed solemnity, and deep respect for our Constitution and national values.

On 11.01.2026, Lodge Satsang No. 396 held its Regular Installation Meeting, during which W Bro Srivatsan Srikanth was duly Installed as the Worshipful Master of the Lodge by VW Bro Sreedharan Srikanth, in a solemn and moving ceremony.

The meeting was held in the August presence of W Bro Raghavan Vasudevan, Assistant Regional Grand Master of Chennai Area and representative of Worshipful the Deputy Regional Grand Master in-charge, RW Bro Doraiswamy Dhamodharasamy. The Meeting was further graced by the presence of 4 other ruling Assistant Regional Grand Masters of Chennai and Tuticorin, and a host of other dignitaries.

The Lodge also marked the completion of a fruitful and satisfying Masonic year under the able leadership of W Bro Sathyanarayanan Palaniappan and his team of officers, who demitted office after a satisfying Masonic Year.

The Lodge commemorated its 150th Meeting since its consecration and marked the event with meaningful Educational Charity Projects. The evening was further enriched by a memorable moment as nine sets of father–son duos assembled, reflecting the enduring bonds of fraternity across generations.

The Lodge conveys its warm wishes to W Bro Srivatsan Srikanth and his team of officers for a fruitful and successful year in office.

Bro Anish Sathyanarayanan was initiated into the mysteries of Freemasonry by his father, W Bro Sathyanarayanan Palaniappan in a heart-warming ceremony. The Lodge takes great pleasure in welcoming Bro.Anish into its fold and in wishing him a great Masonic Career!

Lodge Satsang No.396 held its Regular Election Meeting on 07.12.2025. Bro. Srivatsan Srikanth was elected unanimously as the Worshipful Master of the Lodge for 2026 by the Brethren. The Lodge wishes the Worshipful Master Elect a successful tenure in office!

The occasion also featured a special Past Masters’ Meeting, where Senior Past Masters occupied various offices and conducted a phenomenal Passing Ceremony. Congratulations to Bro. Vikram Krishnamurthy and Bro. Saran Sivakumar on being passed to the degree of Fellowcraft Freemasons.

Warm felicitations to Bro. Jagadish Balakrishnan, who was initiated into the mysteries and privileges of Freemasonry by the regular team of officers in a commendable manner.

On 17th August 2025, Bro. Midhun Chulliel Hari was elevated to the Royal Ark in a solemn and memorable ceremony.

The Trustees of Lodge Satsang Masonic Charitable Trust along with the Worshipful Masters and Brethren of Lodge Satsang No: 396 & Lodge Wisdom No: 477 proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day at Satsang Hall, Mambakkam.

✨ The day began with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony by V.W. Bro. Sreedharan Srikanth, followed by a gathering of brethren to honor our nation’s spirit of freedom.

🌿 Members also visited the Satsang Masonic Tree Park, reinforcing our commitment to nature, sustainability, and community welfare.

This Independence Day, we not only saluted the flag but also renewed our pledge to build a better, greener, and stronger India. 💚🤍🧡
