We’re exciTED to introduce our next speaker, His Lordship Mr. Justice D. Bharatha Chakravarthy, Judge at the Madras High Court and a member of the Green Bench addressing environmental matters across Tamil Nadu.

Graduating with Environmental Law as his elective, Justice Bharatha Chakravarthy has spent over three decades navigating the intersections of law, environment, and public interest. As both an advocate and now a judge, he has contributed to landmark judgments that prioritize ecological well-being over unchecked development.

From the ban on 21 single-use plastics in the Western Ghats to night-traffic restrictions in wildlife zones, his rulings reflect a deep commitment to eco-centric justice, where the rights of nature are upheld with the same seriousness as human interests.

Some moments go beyond talks. They move. They shake. They echo.

We’re exciTED to welcome Sound Mani - Parai artist & Trainer to the TEDxNapierBridge Countdown 2025 stage — a parai artist, restorer, and keeper of Tamil Nadu’s native instruments.

For decades, he’s worked to bring back the parai, kombu, and other folk instruments that carry the soul of this land. His work isn’t just about sound — it’s about memory, protest, identity, and deep listening.

As the climate changes, so must the way we connect — to our land, to our culture, to our past. Mani’s performance reminds us that sustainability isn’t only about innovation. Sometimes, it’s about remembering what we left behind.
