Kolping India was registered under Public Charitable Trust in 1991 based on the shared values/shared beliefs of Adolph Kolping with the sole aim to enhance the capacities of the poor to enjoy the fullness of life. Kolping India programs are well structured into 6 components viz: Livelihood, Education support, Shelter support, Infrastructure support, Disaster Relief, Community Health. These 6 components complements each other to improve the quality of life of every individual members of the Kolping family. Headquartered in Chennai, Kolping India has a distinct advantage of reach and scalability through its committed partners spread across the country.

As part of Kolping India's ongoing commitment to creating safe environments for children, women, and vulnerable adults, a two-day Safeguarding Workshop for Diocesan Kolping Directors was held on September 10th and 11th, 2026, at Ashir Bhavan in Ernakulam, Cochin. The workshop was led by Mr. John Peter Nelson, former Executive Director of IGSSS, who provided critical perspective on safeguarding, specifically tailored for the leaders of Diocesan Kolping Associations.

Kolping India conducted a two-day Safeguarding Workshop for DLKF representatives in 3 batches from 1st to 4th September 2026 at Kolping India Home: Adolph Kolping Resource Centre, Kancheepuram. With over 94% of Kolping members are women from marginalised communities, the subject of the two-day workshop assumes greater relevance in developing a Safeguarding Policy for Kolping India. The Workshop was facilitated by Sr.Lourdhu Mary, Former Head of the Department of Social Work, Stella Maris College, Chennai.

A one-day orientation training on the Kolping Family concept, association structure, and its functions was organized for the members of two Kolping Family Associations operating at Narikuravar Colony in Pallavaram today (18th August 2026) at Kolping India National Centre.

22 participants from the Minal Kolping Family and Munnetram Kolping Family actively participated in the sessions. A significant moment is the official enrollment of members. All 50 members from two Kolping families expressed their conviction to the principles and values of Kolping and formally became Kolping members. This reflects the growing interest in the Kolping movement within this most marginalised community. End of the training Dr. Maria Soosai distributed financial support of Rs. 20,000 to each of 20 Kolping members to strengthen their livelihood. This financial assistance is intended to help the beneficiaries start new income-generation activities or diversify their existing ventures

A Kolping Product Outlet at Kottar Kolping was inaugurated by Dr. Maria Soosai, National Director – Kolping India, on 16th July 2026. The outlet was established as a collective venture by 4 Kolping members under the guidance of the Kottar DLKF at Colachel. The Outlet promotes sale of 42 varieties of value-added products, primarily produced by Kolping members from Kottar Kolping, alongside products procured from neighboring Diocesan Kolpings. Kolping India wishes the team great success and continued growth in their journey toward economic empowerment.

Towards creating a safer environment and organisational accountability, Kolping India organised a intensive Workshop on "Safeguarding & Policy Evolution" at Kolping India Home: Adolph Kolping Resource Centre, Kancheepuram on 26th June 2026. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. John Peter Nelson (IGSSS) that helped the participants to gain a comprehensive perspective on the topic and linking its need and application to Kolping India.
