Throwback to a Milestone That Made Us Proud 🏏💙

Some moments stay special—not just because of what was achieved, but because of what they represent.

This is a throwback to one such milestone in our journey towards strengthening Para Sports in Tamil Nadu.

We approached respected Member Secretary Thiru.Meghanatha Reddy, SDAT - Government of Tamil Nadu, seeking support for one of our para-sport player. The then Sports Minister, Thiru.Udhayanidhi Stalin’s positive response and encouragement helped us secure a cricket kit worth ₹1.28 lakh for the player.

For us, this was never just about a cricket kit.
It was about recognising talent, creating opportunity and believing that disability should never be a barrier to sporting dreams.

Our vision for Para Sports is clear: identify talent, nurture potential and create opportunities where every player gets the chance to shine. 🌟

This throwback reminds us that possibilities become opportunities when we work hard.

Yes, we are getting ready for an inspiring celebration of talent, determination and inclusion!!

The Headway Foundation is delightfully organizing the,
🏆 STATE LEVEL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT FOR VISUALLY CHALLENGED.

Featuring 18 participating teams from across Tamil Nadu – Men & Women, coming together to compete, connect and create an impact through sport.

📅 9th August 2026

📍 Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Melakottaiyur

The Chennai Wheelchair Basketball Development Program was successfully launched at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai, in the august presence of the Member Secretary Shri.Meghanatha Reddy from the Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu.

The inaugural event witnessed enthusiastic participation from players, sports enthusiasts and members of the disability community.

The initiative aims to identify, train and empower persons with locomotor disabilities through the sport of wheelchair basketball, promoting physical fitness, confidence, teamwork and competitive excellence.

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of creating inclusive sporting opportunities and encouraged persons with disabilities to actively participate in sports as a pathway to personal growth and achievement.

The organizers have extended an open invitation to individuals with locomotor disabilities who are already playing wheelchair basketball, as well as aspiring players interested in learning the sport, to join the development program. The initiative seeks to nurture talent and build strong men’s and women’s teams that can represent Chennai and Tamil Nadu at state and national levels.

Interested persons with locomotor disabilities are encouraged to contact us to register and become part of this transformative sporting movement.

The launch marks a significant step toward strengthening inclusive sports in Chennai and creating greater opportunities for athletes with disabilities to excel both on and off the court.

We are proud to relaunch Wheelchair Basketball in Chennai—reviving a movement that once transformed lives and inspired countless athletes.

What began as a powerful initiative is back with renewed purpose: to create opportunities, nurture talent, and build a stronger pathway for persons with disabilities through sport. Chennai has played a significant role in the growth of wheelchair basketball in India, and we are excited to begin this new chapter from the city once again.

This is more than the launch of a sports program. It is a commitment to inclusion, resilience, teamwork, and the belief that every player deserves a platform to dream, compete, and excel.

To every player, coach, volunteer, partner, and supporter—thank you for believing in this vision. Together, let’s build a future where talent knows no barriers.
