✨ Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Creating a Drug-Free Future ✨
Today marked another meaningful step toward building a healthier and safer society! As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug-Free India Campaign), FEMA Foundation, in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Vellore, conducted powerful and interactive drug-awareness sessions for students of Puratchi Thalaivar MGR Arts and Science College and NTTF Institute, Vellore.

The sessions focused on:
🔹 Understanding the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse
🔹 Building emotional resilience and positive coping skills
🔹 Recognizing peer pressure and making informed life choices
🔹 Spreading awareness among friends, families, and communities

As part of FEMA Foundation’s Anniversary Celebrations, on Day 25, we joined hands with Smart Hearts Paramedical Institute to organize a Free Vital Health Check-up Camp 🩺

The camp offered free testing services including:
✅ Height & Weight
✅ BMI
✅ Fasting Blood Glucose
✅ Post-Prandial Blood Glucose
✅ Hemoglobin

A total of 23 individuals from the local community benefited from the camp and received their medical reports.

Through this initiative, FEMA Foundation continues its commitment to promoting community health and well-being. 💪❤️

செப்டம்பர் 21 - உலக அல்சைமர் விழிப்புணர்வு தினம்

அல்சைமர் நோய் : 2050 ல் காத்திருக்கும் ஆபத்து!

2005ஆம் ஆண்டு அமிதாப் பச்சன் நடிப்பில் வெளிவந்த பிளாக், அஜய் தேவ்கன் நடித்து, இயக்கி 2008ல் வெளிவந்த யூ மி ஔர் ஹும், கதை நாயகியாக ஆஷா போஸ்லே நடித்து 2013ல் வெளிவந்த மாய், சமீபத்தில் தமிழகம் கொண்டாடிய ஓ காதல் கண்மணி படங்களுக்கெல்லாம் ஒரு தொடர்பு உள்ளது என்றால், எல்லோரும் மூளையைக் கசக்கி யோசிப்போம். ஆனால் அந்தப் படங்களிடம் உள்ள ஒற்றுமையே யோசிக்கும் திறனைக் குறைத்து, மனிதனை ஒரு உயிருள்ள பிணமாய் மாற்றும் அல்சைமர் நோய் பற்றியது என்பதுதான்.

நேற்று, செப்டம்பர் 21 - உலக அல்சைமர் விழிப்புணர்வு தினம். பல்வேறு தொண்டு நிறுவனங்களும் அல்சைமர் விழிப்பு உணர்வை உலகம் முழுதும் ஏற்படுத்தி வருகின்றன. இன்று 22-09-2018 FEMA அமைப்பு சார்பில் சென்னை - வியாசர்பாடி, சிவகாமி அம்மையார் காலனி 'கற்றலில் இன்பம் கல்விதான மையத்தை சேர்ந்த மாணவ மாணவிகள்' இணைந்து வீதி நாடகம் மூலம் விழிப்பு உணர்வு ஏற்படுத்தவுள்ளனர். நம்மில் எத்தனை பேருக்கு அல்சைமர் பற்றித் தெரியும். நாம் அறிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டியது என்ன?

அல்சைமர்

உலக மக்களின் மரணத்திற்கான காரணங்களில் இந்த நோய் பெற்றிருக்கும் இடம் ஆறு. கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாய் மூளையின் செல்களை சிதைத்து, ஞாபக சக்தியைக் குறைத்து, நம்மை நமக்கே மறக்க வைத்துவிடும் இந்த அல்சைமர் நோய். 65 வயது தாண்டியவர்களை அதிகம் பாதிக்கும் இந்நோயைப் பற்றி 1906 ல் ஜெர்மனியைச் சார்ந்த மருத்துவரான அலோயிஸ் அல்சைமர் உலகுக்கு எடுத்துரைத்தார். அமெரிக்காவில் மட்டும் 54 லட்சம் பேரை பாதித்துள்ள இந்த அல்சைமர், தற்சமயம் உலகம் முழுவதும் காவு வாங்கியுள்ள மூளைகளின் எண்ணிக்கை சுமார் 4 கோடியே 70 லட்சம்.

இந்த நோய் பாதித்தவர்களால் எதையும் ஞாபகம் வைத்துக்கொள்ள இயலாது. தாங்கள் பழகிய முகங்களையே மறந்துவிடுவார்கள். அவர்களால் எந்த ஒரு சூழ்நிலையையும் சமாளிக்க முடியாது. முடிவுகள் எடுக்க சிரமப்படுவார்கள். தங்களைத் தாங்களே மறக்கத் தொடங்குவார்கள். பிறரது உதவியின்றி அவர்களால் செயல்பட முடியாது. இப்படி கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக சிதையுண்டு கடைசியில் மரணத்தை கைப்பிடிப்பார்கள்.

இந்நோய் வருவதற்கான காரணம் என்ன?

அமிலாய்டு ப்ரிகர்சர் புரோட்டீன், ப்ரிசெனிலிஸ் 1, ப்ரிசெனிலின்ஸ் 2 ஆகிய ஜீன்களில் ஏற்படும் மரபணு மாற்றமே இந்நோய்க்கான முக்கிய காரணமாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. அடிக்கடி தலையில் ஏற்பட்ட காயங்களாலும், மன அழுத்தம் காரணமாகவும், அதிக கோபப்படுவதாலும் கூட அல்சைமர் நோய் தாக்கப்படலாம் என்கின்றனர் மருத்துவர்கள்.

எப்படி அறிந்து கொள்வது?

இந்நோய் தாக்கியவர்களால் எந்தவொரு புதிய விஷயங்களையும் ஞாபகம் வைத்திருக்க முடியாது. பழைய விஷயங்களையும் அவர்களால் அதிகமாக நினைவுபடுத்த முடியாது. ஒரு பொருளை எங்காவது வைத்துவிட்டு தேடுவார்கள். சில சமயங்களில் அவர்களுக்கு என்ன தேவை என்றே அவர்களுக்குத் தெரியாது.

இதனை உறுதிப்படுத்திக் கொள்வதற்காக நடத்தை மதிப்பீடுகளும், அறிதிறன் சோதனைகளும் செய்யப்படுகின்றன. CT,MRI,SPECT,PET போன்ற பல வகையான ஸ்கேன் முறைகள் செய்தே இதை உறுதிபடுத்த முடியும்.

எப்படி சரிசெய்வது?

இதில் மிகவும் மோசமானது என்னவென்றால் இந்நோயை குணப்படுத்த இன்னும் மருந்துகள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்படவில்லை. இந்நோயின் தீவீரத்தை சற்று குறைக்க முடியுமே ஒழிய, இதை குணப்படுத்தும் முறையினை விஞ்ஞானிகளால் இன்னும் கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியவில்லை. டோனெபெசில், கலன்டமைன் போன்ற மருந்துகள் மூலம் இந்நோயின் தீவிரத்தைக் குறைக்க முடியும். வயதான காலத்தில் கொலஸ்ட்ரால், உடல் பருமன் போன்றவற்றை தவிர்ப்பதும் உடலுக்கு நல்லது.

இவர்களும் மனிதர்கள்தான்!

இந்நோய் பாதித்த பலரும் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளால் கைவிடப்படுகின்றனர். முதியோர் இல்லங்களிலோ அல்லது அநாதையாக ரோட்டிலோதான் பலரும் தங்கள் கடைசி காலத்தைக் கழிக்கின்றனர். அவர்களால் தமக்கு எந்தப் பயனும் இல்லை என்பதுதான் இந்த அலட்சியத்துக்கான காரணம். உண்மைதான். அவர்களால் நமக்கு நிச்சயமாக ஒன்றும் வந்துவிடப்போவதில்லை. ஆனால் நாமும் அந்த நிலமைக்கு வரத்தான் போகிறோம். ஆம். 2050 ஆம் ஆண்டில் உலகில் 100 கோடி பேர் அல்சைமர் நோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பார்கள் என்கிறது ஒரு அறிக்கை.

தற்போது இந்தியாவில் 40 லட்சம் மக்கள் இந்நோயோடு வாழ்ந்து வருகிறார்கள். இந்த எண்ணிக்கை 2030ல் இரட்டிப்பாகலாம் என்கிறார்கள் நிபுணர்கள். அன்றைய தினம் நாமும் இந்நோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கலாம்.

நம்மை யார் பாதுகாப்பது?

முற்பகல் யாருக்கேனும் நன்மை செய்திருந்தால் தானே பிற்பகல் நமக்கு திரும்ப வரும். அதற்காகவாவது இன்று அல்சைமரால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களை புறம் தள்ளாமல் நம்மோடு ஒருவராகக் கருதி, அவர்களைப் பாதுகாப்போம்.

நவீன யுக காதலையும், ரஹ்மானின் இசையையும் ஓகே கண்மணியில் கண்டு ரசித்த இளைஞர்களே, அப்படத்தில் தோன்றிய பவானியின் காதலையும் கஷ்டத்தையும் கூட பாருங்கள். அவர்களுக்கும் சொல்ல முடியாத ஆசைகளும், வெளிக்காட்ட முடியாத பாசமும் உண்டு. அதை உதாசீனப்படுத்தாதீர்கள். நாம் அல்சைமரை ஒழிக்கப் பாடுபட வேண்டாம். அதனால் பாதித்தவர்களுக்கு பாசம் காட்டினாலே போதும்...!
