Akshaya Trust, in collaboration with Exnora International, warmly invites all villagers of Kavandandalam and nearby areas to a special community meeting on the restoration of Ismery Lake.

On 13 May, we successfully met and discussed with the villagers about their valuable suggestions and expectations for this project. Based on their request, it has been decided to take up the cleaning and restoration of three lakes near Akshaya Trust, as well as desilting and clearing a three-kilometre stretch of the river that brings water to Ismery Lake, in consultation with the Water Resources / PWD authorities.

We request the wholehearted participation of all villagers, youth, and women’s self-help groups to make this initiative a grand success and to ensure clean, sustainable water for future generations

Feeling blessed to host a special Medical Camp by Chettinad Hospital & Research Institute today at Akshaya Trust, Chennai.

A dedicated team of doctors, nurses and support staff conducted free health check-ups, basic investigations and consultations for our resident elders, patiently listening to each person and guiding them on medication, diet and follow‑up care. Their compassionate service made our seniors feel valued, cared for and reassured.

Our heartfelt thanks to Chettinad Hospital for partnering with us in protecting the health and dignity of abandoned elders, and to all donors and well‑wishers who make such initiatives possible.

Feeling grateful to see Akshaya Trust featured in today’s The Hindu – Downtown for our Valasaravakkam free old age home and its joyful dance sessions for seniors.

At Akshaya, we believe learning, laughter and movement have no age limit. This special coverage highlights how our residents are exploring simple, fun dance moves, enjoying old Tamil songs, and staying active in body and mind with the support of kind-hearted well‑wishers and partners like Raack Academy of Dance.

A big thank you to The Hindu team for visiting our home and sharing these inspiring moments with the wider community, and to every donor, volunteer and friend who makes such meaningful activities possible for our elders.

Akshaya Trust cares for 400+ destitute senior citizens across our free old age homes, providing them with safe shelter, nutritious food, medical care and loving attention every single day. With your monthly support, we can continue to protect more neglected mothers and fathers and give them a peaceful life.
👉 You can sponsor an elder from just ₹1,500 per month and take care of their food, medicines and overall care.
👉 We provide complete services including accommodation, healthy meals, medical checkups and 24/7 caregiving.
