A Distinguished Honour for a Lifetime of Contribution

We are proud to share a significant moment for TANKER Foundation.

On 26 September 2026 in Patna, our President & Founder-Trustee, Dr. Georgi Abraham, received the Dhanvantari Award for Lifetime Contribution from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Samrat Choudhary, in the presence of the Hon’ble Health Minister of Bihar, Shri Nishant.

The occasion also marked the release of Dr. Georgi Abraham’s book, Truth and Healing: Religion, Spirituality and Faith in Kidney Failure, by Hon’ble Health Minister Shri Nishant.

The book explores the role of religion, spirituality and faith in helping patients and families navigate the challenges of kidney failure, bringing together medical expertise and the human dimensions of living with chronic illness.

For TANKER Foundation, this recognition represents an important milestone in Dr. Georgi Abraham’s continuing contribution to nephrology, kidney care, patient support and awareness.

MOBIS India Foundation Supports TANKER Foundation with Three Haemodialysis Machines 💙

TANKER Foundation is grateful to MOBIS India Foundation for donating three haemodialysis machines to the Thiruverkadu Centre of TANKER Foundation.

The machines were inaugurated by Mr. Narasimhan G., CSR Head, MOBIS India Foundation, and will help provide dialysis care to more underprivileged patients in need.

Dr. Georgi Abraham, President & Founder-Trustee, TANKER Foundation, expressed his appreciation for the generous support and its contribution towards strengthening access to kidney care.

TANKER Foundation Featured in The Hindu for Renal Pathology & Transplant Immunology Workshop

TANKER Foundation, in association with Madras Medical Mission (MMM), recently organised the “Renal Pathology Made Easy & Transplant Immunology” workshop at The Madras Medical Mission, Chennai.

Held on August 8, the workshop brought together nephrologists, pathologists, nephropathologists, transplant physicians and surgeons, immunologists, and trainees to explore important developments in kidney disease diagnosis and transplantation.

The programme covered common kidney diseases, the role of kidney biopsies in diagnosis, complications following transplantation, newer treatments for membranous nephropathy, and transplant immunology.

The workshop was held under the academic leadership of Dr. Georgi Abraham, President & Founder-Trustee, TANKER Foundation, and Advisor, Department of Nephrology, The Madras Medical Mission.

We are grateful to The Hindu for highlighting this initiative and the importance of continued academic exchange and collaboration in nephrology, renal pathology, and transplantation.
