Fly High – Career Guidance Program for Students of Grades 9th–12th in Chennai
Under the banner of Oruma Charitable Trust, a career guidance program was conducted in Chennai for students of Classes 9 to 12. The session was led by Mr. Anwar P.K., Career Counselor from the Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI), who engaged with students on the theme “How to Plan Your Career.” His talk offered practical insights on charting a career, recognizing professional options, and selecting suitable courses and institutions to achieve their ambitions.
To expand the students’ exposure, a panel discussion was also organized. The panel featured Dr. Nabeel, Advocate Althaf, Dr. Sukhaina, Mr. Sagheer A.I., Mr. Abdussalam, and Mr. Erfan Mohiyudeen, who shared perspectives on career avenues in biomedical engineering, law, epidemiology, business, software, and data science. The panel was coordinated by Mr. Adil Abdul Hameed.
The program further included an interactive career networking session titled “Know Your Horizon,” which allowed students to meet professionals and ask detailed questions. Alongside the panelists, experts from areas such as sociology, chemistry, vehicle electronics, data engineering, IT, mechanical engineering, economics, and oceanography joined. Among them were Dr. M.N. Harris, Dr. Jahfar Ali, Mr. Waseem Abdul Rasheed, Mr. Shahid U.V., Mr. Shajeer K., Ms. Shivapriya S. Nair, Mr. Shabeeb T., Mr. Jafar K., Dr. Naseef, and Dr. Noujas.
The program commenced at 9:00 a.m. with a welcome note by Mr. Waseem Abdul Rasheed, President – Oruma Pallavakkam Velachery Unit, and was formally inaugurated by Dr. Anwar Sadath, Associate Professor and Director – Internal Quality Assurance Cell, The New College, Chennai. On behalf of Oruma, Mr. Mohammed Shafi P.T., President – Oruma, offered his greetings for the event.
More than 40 students and their parents joined the program. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Shabeeb T., President – Oruma South Area. The session concluded at 2:00 p.m. with lunch. The event was coordinated overall by Mr. Adil Abdul Hameed.
