Global Tamil Organisation For uniting Tamils and Tamil Diaspora

Global Tamil Organisation is formed to bridge Tamils of India & Tamil Diaspora spread around the world. We are aware that Tamils and People of Tamil Origin (PTO) are about 80 million including 10 million Diaspora Tamils. The Tamil community around the world are one of the most significant International Linguistic communities of India

. Apart from India large Tamil communities are present in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Burma, Western Europe, North America, Caribbean & Australia. The issues and challenges faced by Tamil community had given rise to mushrooming of Tamil activism groups at their home places around the world. It is the need of the hour to inter link Tamil Diaspora organisation or work with one another sister organisations to strengthen the Tamil community by focused result oriented activity. The major issue faced by the Tamil society in the last 70 years is the Genocide of Tamils in Burma from II World War which resulted in loss of identity of their culture, custom and tradition and language. And in Srilanka from the year 1983, the act of Genocide has resulted in loss of thousand of life and has lead the Tamils to migrate to other countries to save their life and lose their mother land. In Malaysia the Tamils who are the third largest ethnic group after years of suppression have arisen up to regress political activism from the year 2007. The up rise has lead the minority Tamil group to be significant part of Malaysian polity in spite of challenges among them, but has gained substantially in the basic need of education for the development of its society. In the year 2008-09 in war against Tamils, the loss of Tamil’s life was more than 140,000 due to political debacle and the Tamils being less influential. Neither their mother country nor the Tamil Diaspora was influential to protect its community people. Today Tamils are even unable to seek justice for the affected people and to voice out in one to solve their issues. It is also observed that the Tamil community where ever they live, they are being less influential to attain equal right and status with fellow citizens. It is realised that this could be due to lack of political will and weakened in its Tamil polity. It is observed that if the issues are diplomatically supported from their land of their origin and voiced from the (Tamil) Diaspora around the world the changes in the social and economical life of the lesser privileged can be fruitful. The need arises to empower the Tamil community Economically, Educationally, Politically and improve the social status of its people. Empowering will lead the Tamil community to get the required status in the world and the space it needs. It would be essential to form a united “Tamil Diaspora organisation” to consolidate the social, political, cultural and economic ties among the Tamils spread around the world. The formation of Tamil Diaspora organisation would also develop the historical and academic knowledge among the Tamil youths and activist and to develop a strong think tank group which should be set the policy and influential ambassadors for diplomatic solutions. Global Tamil Organisation is formed to bridge Tamils of India & Tamil Diaspora spread around the world.
