Pathway India Pathway is devoted to assisting India's poorest of the poor, providing care for nearly 800 individual

Pathway is an organization devoted to assisting children regardless of caste, creed, or sex. Pathway specializes in providing vocational training and rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy and many other mental and physical disorders. We provide care for nearly 800 children on a regular basis, and have almost 300 live-in children.

A moment of immense pride and joy for the entire Pathway – Dr. Dathu Rao Memorial Charitable Trust family!
We are delighted to share that our Director and Co-Founder, Dr. Chandra Prasad, has been honoured with the prestigious Mahatma Award 2026 – Lifetime Achievement in Social Responsibility and Social Impact.
The prestigious award ceremony was held on 1 October 2026 at the India International Centre, New Delhi, bringing together distinguished personalities and leaders from the social, corporate and public-service sectors.
The award was presented by Dr. Kiran Bedi and Mr. Amit Sachdeva, CSR Man of India, in the presence of distinguished personalities including Dr. Santrupt Misra,MP of Rajya Sabha for Odisha, making this recognition even more memorable for the Pathway family.
This Lifetime Achievement recognition celebrates Dr. Chandra Prasad’s decades of dedicated and selfless service towards the rehabilitation, education, empowerment and inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities and underserved communities.
For decades, she has remained deeply committed to the mission of Pathway, working with compassion, perseverance and an unwavering belief that every individual deserves dignity, opportunity and an inclusive place in society.
This honour is not only a recognition of her personal journey but also a tribute to the Pathway family, staff, supporters, donors, well-wishers and every individual who has been part of this journey of social impact.

Pathway Students Shine at Inner Wheel Mazhalai Oli Special Olympics 2026
On 30 September 2026, Our students from Pathway, accompanied by staff members, enthusiastically participated in the Mazhalai Oli Special Olympics, organised by the Clubs of Inner Wheel District 323 at Rajarathinam Stadium, Egmore, Chennai. The event celebrated the special abilities and sporting talents of children through athletics and inclusive sports activities.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. M. Radhakrishnan, M.A., Deputy Commissioner of Police, Armed Reserve, Greater Chennai Police, as the Chief Guest. The event was graced by District Chairperson Supriya Sundaram, Convenor Nallamai Ramanathan (Past District Chairperson) and Co-Convenor Anandhi Sabesan (District Treasurer).
Our children showcased their sporting talents and brought immense pride to Pathway by winning an impressive 25 medals, comprising 4 Gold, 11 Silver and 10 Bronze medals. Their enthusiasm, determination and sportsmanship made the event a memorable experience.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the programme, which provided them with a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, build confidence and celebrate their achievements.

Dr. Chandra Prasad Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award
Chennai, September 26, 2026: Dr. Chandra Prasad, Co-Founder, Chief Functionary, Honorary Director and General Secretary of Pathway – Dr. Dathu Rao Memorial Charitable Trust, was conferred the Life Time Achievement Award 2026 by Puthiya Vanigam Publications, Chennai, during its 31st-year Award Function held at the Tamil Virtual Academy, Kotturpuram, Chennai.
The award recognised Dr. Prasad’s over five decades of dedicated service towards the education, rehabilitation and empowerment of persons with intellectual disabilities and the education and welfare of underprivileged children.
The function was graced by Hon’ble Justice S. Baskaran, former Chairperson, State Human Rights Commission, Tamil Nadu; Hon’ble Judge A. Mohamed Jiyaputheen, former District & Sessions Judge and Full-Time Member, State Official Language (Legislative) Commission, Tamil Nadu; Dr. N. Basheer Ahamed, Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Abacus; Mr. King Kong, film comedy actor; Mrs. R. Ravithi; and Mr. A. Kamalahasan, Keerthi Promoters. Pulavar Hussain, Founder of Puthiya Vanigam, and Mr. M. Abdul Razack (Babu) of Puthiya Vanigam were also part of the occasion.
The event assumed special significance as 20 dedicated staff members of Pathway were also honoured in recognition of their committed service to the organisation and its beneficiaries.
Marking the occasion, Puthiya Vanigam featured Dr. Chandra Prasad on the cover of its September–October 2026 edition under the title “A Leaf in the Stream,” highlighting her journey of service and the enduring legacy of Pathway India – Changing Lives Forever.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations at Pathway
Pathway celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with devotion, creativity and joy across all three of our centres.
Our children and staff came together through colourful cultural performances, traditional attire, creative displays and meaningful messages.
The celebrations beautifully highlighted the values of faith, togetherness, creativity and environmental responsibility, with our children presenting a wonderful Eco Ganesha message.
It was a joyful celebration that brought smiles, unity and festive spirit to the entire Pathway family.
May Lord Ganesha bless all our children, families and well-wishers with happiness, wisdom and prosperity.

On 8th September, the Pathway family across all our centres came together to pay our heartfelt respects to our beloved Founder, Dr. ADSN Prasad.
His vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serving humanity laid the foundation of the Pathway movement.
Though he is no longer with us, his values continue to guide and inspire every step we take.
Every life touched, every child empowered, and every family supported carries a part of his enduring legacy.
We remember him not only with respect, but with deep gratitude for the purpose he gave us.
His dream of creating a more inclusive and compassionate society continues to live through Pathway.

A memorable day of recognition, gratitude and celebration at PATHWAY as we proudly hosted the 11th Excellence Award Celebration, honouring the dedication, commitment and outstanding contributions of our team members.
We were deeply honoured to have our staunch and valued donors, Mr. Alex Martinez and Mrs. Pamela Martinez, as the Guests of Honour, whose unwavering support and belief in the PATHWAY mission continue to inspire and strengthen our work.

A Proud International Recognition for Pathway India!
We are delighted to share that Dr. Chandra Prasad, Co-Founder and Honorary Director of Dr. Dathu Rao Memorial Charitable Trust (Pathway India), has been honored with the prestigious "Black Swan Award for Women Empowerment" under the Women Empowerment Principles Leadership Awards 2026 at the 27th AsiaOne ASEAN Business & Social Forum 2026, held at the JW Marriott Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 10th June 2026.
The award was presented by H.E. Dr. Sandor Sipos, Ambassador of Hungary to Malaysia, and H.E. Dr. Karomidin Gadoev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, in the presence of distinguished diplomats, business leaders, social innovators, and changemakers from across the globe.

We are delighted to share a proud and inspiring moment for the Pathway family!
Mrs. Rupavathi R, a committed and compassionate staff member of Pathway, was honoured with the prestigious “Special Mom Award 2025–26” by Mr. Iyyappan Subramaniyan, Founder Managing Trustee of Sri Arunodayam Charitable Trust, on 10th May 2026.
This special recognition was presented as part of “Sri Arunodayam’s Tribute to Great Mothers”, celebrating mothers who have shown exceptional courage, resilience, and unconditional love in raising and supporting their special children. Mrs. Rupavathi was recognized for her remarkable perseverance, strength, and inspiring dedication in overcoming life’s challenges while caring for her child with endless love and commitment.
