🐾 Free Eye Check-Up Camp for Dogs & Cats – Successfully Completed! 👁️

On 15 March 2026, Voice of Animals Trust proudly conducted a Free Eye Check-Up Camp dedicated to improving the eye health of our beloved dogs and cats. 🐶🐱

The camp was a wonderful success, with many rescued and community animals receiving professional eye examinations, early diagnosis, and medical guidance. Healthy vision is vital for animals to live safely and comfortably.

Our heartfelt thanks to Rotary Club Of Madras East Trust for supporting the effort.

A special thanks to our respected veterinary doctors Dr. C. Ramani and Dr. Pushkin Raj for their valuable time, expertise, and compassionate care for the animals. Their dedication made this initiative truly impactful. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Dr M Radhakrishnan, former director of Regional Institute of ophthalmology Chennai in supporting the camp by way of arranging eyedrops Mr Ramesh sales manager senses Pharma Chennai Mr. Kumarasamy Ciscon for support through equipment, A very special thanks to VOAT Veterinarians and support staff members.

About us📍

VOAT - A veterinary hospital in Porur providing medical, surgical and boarding services for dogs/cats. We are looking for a reliable attender to help with dog/cat handling, kennel care and general support tasks.

🔑 Key responsibilities

▪️ Safely handle and restrain dogs of all sizes for examination, treatment and transport
▪️Clean and disinfect kennels, wards and treatment areas
▪️Feed, bathe, groom and exercise hospitalized/boarded dogs as instructed
▪️Assist veterinarians and technicians during treatments and procedures
▪️ Monitor animals for changes in behavior or health and report concerns promptly
▪️Maintain basic records (feeding, medications, observations)
▪️ Manage laundry, clinic sanitation and disposal of waste according to protocol
▪️Help maintain stock of supplies and inform supervisor when items are low
▪️Provide courteous support to pet owners when required

☘️Requirements

✔️ Previous experience handling dogs (kennel/clinic/boarding experience preferred)
✔️ Comfortable with large and small breeds; calm and confident with nervous or aggressive animals
✔️ Physically fit (able to lift/move animals and equipment)
✔️ Basic animal first-aid knowledge is a plus
✔️ Punctual, reliable, hygienic and able to follow instructions
✔️ Good communication skills and a team player
✔️ Willingness to work shifts/weekends as needed

As Cyclone Ditwah approaches, it’s crucial to prepare and stay safe not just for ourselves but for the animals that share our neighborhoods. Community dogs, cats, and other animals face the same harsh weather conditions, often without shelter or food.

Please remember to:

Provide dry, safe shelter for animals whenever possible

Leave out fresh water and food in accessible places

Check on animals in your community, especially those who may be alone or in distress

Avoid leaving pets unattended outdoors during the storm

Small acts of kindness can make a huge difference in their survival and well-being. Together, we can protect every life during this challenging time.

Stay safe, stay vigilant, and let’s get through Cyclone Ditwah as a caring, united community.
