Education should travel with every child—no matter where life takes them. ✨

This migration season (Oct–Nov 2025), Aide et Action set up 7 worksite schools in Sangareddy district (Telangana), reaching 289 children (6–14 years).

📚 Children continued learning in Odia, following the Odisha State curriculum
🍛 Received mid-day meals like any government school
🎒 Got uniforms & learning materials
🏫 Supported and monitored by local school authorities

🌟 A proud milestone:
All children received officially recognized report cards, signed by government school headmasters and handed over by the District Education Officer at a special event.

These certificates are more than just marksheets—they are a bridge back to school, helping children rejoin classrooms in their home states without disruption.

🤝 Supported under the UDAAN Project by:
Ficosa (Sangareddy)
ADP Foundation (Ranga Reddy)

Because every child deserves continuity in learning. 💛

🌟 KALIKA 2026: Celebrating Every Child’s Potential 🌟

On March 25, 2026, Aide et Action hosted KALIKA—an annual sports and cultural event for children of migrant brick kiln workers in Khurda and Cuttack.

Over 200 children showcased their talent through sports, folk dances, and social plays addressing child labor and child marriage. Winners were recognized with prizes and certificates.

Mr. Umi Daniel, Director (Migration & Education), Aide et Action (India) and Chief Guest Ms. Sujata Sarkar, Company Secretary, Odisha State Police Housing & Welfare Corporation Ltd. highlighted the initiative’s impact—supporting over 1,000 children annually with education, health, and safety across Odisha.

With support from UNICEF India, Azim Premji Foundation, and District Child Protection Unit, KALIKA continues to be a model for creating child-labor-free environments.

👏 A big thank you to grassroots partners, migrant families, and brick kiln owners for making this a success.

🌸A small step towards dignity, a giant leap for access to education.🌸

With the valued support of the The Odisha State Police Housing & Welfare Corporation Ltd., Aide et Action (India) launched a distribution drive providing uniforms, slippers and learning materials for migrant children living in brick kilns in Odisha. The initiative was inaugurated by Mr. Saumendra Priyadarshi, IPS, Managing Director of the Corporation, at the Grand Brick Kiln near Bhubaneswar.

Through this effort, we are reaching 1,150 accompanying children of migrant workers across 32 brick kilns in Khurda, Cuttack, and Ganjam districts—ensuring they have the essentials to learn, grow, and thrive despite challenging circumstances.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn with dignity—no matter where they are.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Enlight Project team at Aide et Action organized a special programme in Hyderabad to celebrate resilience, inclusion, and the power of education.

What followed was a beautiful surprise… 💙

The girl beneficiaries of the project took the stage—not just as participants, but as changemakers—to felicitate the project staff for their unwavering support in shaping their lives.

Many of these young women, living with disabilities, were once out of school when the project began in 2015. Today, their journeys tell a different story—one of courage and determination. Most have completed their high school education, and several are now pursuing higher studies.

Their gesture was more than a moment of appreciation—it was a powerful reflection of transformation, trust, and impact. 🌸

At Aide et Action, we believe libraries can transform the way children learn. 📚

Through our partnership with Bookworm Trust & Library, Goa, under the Library Mentoring and Support (LMS) programme, mentors Ashwani and Sujata recently visited our project area to work closely with the team on building vibrant reading spaces and strengthening community engagement.

Building on this collaboration, four of our staff embarked on an immersive learning journey at the Libraries – Purpose & Practice Workshop in Bihar. Through hands-on sessions such as Book Talk, Read Aloud, Browsing Games, and Pop-Up Libraries, they explored creative ways to make libraries joyful spaces of curiosity and discovery.

These learnings will now be applied in schools across 20 villages in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh, under the Ensuring Quality Education project—helping nurture strong reading cultures and child-friendly libraries that inspire lifelong learning.

Protecting children requires strong partnerships 🤝

Aide et Action was honoured to participate in a Regional Workshop on Child Rights and Child Protection hosted by the Odisha Police on 7 March 2026 in Sambalpur, Odisha.

Our Programme Manager Saroj Kumar Barik joined as a resource person, facilitating an interactive discussion on child rights, legal frameworks, and the role of institutions and communities in safeguarding children.

The workshop brought together police officials, representatives from the Department of Women and Child Development, Odisha, and civil society organisations from Bargarh, Balangir, Subarnapur, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur to strengthen collaboration for child protection.

Sharing insights from Aide et Action’s work across India, the session highlighted community-based approaches to education, prevention of child labour, and trafficking, while encouraging stronger inter-departmental coordination for the protection and wellbeing of children. 🌱

On the eve of International Women’s Day, 27 CCLC centres across Khordha, Cuttack and Ganjam in Odisha celebrated with 465 women brick-kiln workers and 67 adolescent girls. 🌸

Local leaders—Sarpanch, brick kiln owners, Anganwadi and ASHA workers—encouraged women to voice their concerns and learn about rights that protect them from exploitation. Important conversations on health, hygiene, safety, and education for girls were also shared.

The celebration was full of joy with dancing, singing, and traditional Jhoti art, along with fruits and snacks for everyone. In a supportive gesture, kiln owners even gave women workers a half-day leave and materials for the event.

The message was simple: When communities give women respect, knowledge, and opportunities, everyone gains stronger voices, healthier families, and brighter futures. 💜

Aide et Action has established Child Care and Learning Centres (CCLCs) in Odisha and Patna, creating safe and healthy spaces for children at worksites. Through these centres, we provide Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and support children above six years to enrol in nearby schools, ensuring that learning continues even for children in migrant work environments. ✨
