What happens when research is shared beyond journals and into conversations?
The PIECEs project dissemination event brought together mental health professionals, researchers, persons with lived experience, caregivers, to reflect on five years of community mental health research across India and Pakistan.
The event featured:
๐Ÿ“– Early findings from the DIALOG+ trial in India and Pakistan
๐Ÿ“˜ A report on the PIECEs Small Scale Research Grants (SSRG) for early career researchers
๐Ÿ“– Release of the User-led Guide to Participatory Mental Health Research
๐ŸŽฌ Exclusive pre-screening of the PIECEs documentary
๐Ÿ’ฌ Panel discussion with persons with lived experience and the PIECEs team
๐Ÿค Reflections on community engagement and participatory mental health research
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in person and online, and to our collaborators, speakers, and community partners who made this event possible. We hope the discussions, resources, and connections sparked here continue to shape mental health research and practice.

๐ŸŽจ Art, expression, and mental health came together at the Art Fest for Mental Health!

As part of the PIECEs Project, SCARF partnered with the Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Music and Fine Arts University to host a two-day celebration of creativity and wellbeing.

The fest opened on 31 July with an inauguration by Dr. C.K. Gariyali, IAS, and Tmt. K. Poomalini, Registrar, TNJJMFAU. The day also featured *Mudiyum Mudiyadhu*โ€”a moving theatre performance by SCARF service users with lived experience of mental illness, alongside theatre artists. It was a powerful sharing of stories, emotions, and lived realities on stage.

On 1 August, the focus shifted to hands-on workshops in art, craft, music, and dance. Participants explored different forms of expression and connected with mental health in creative, personal ways.

A big thank you to all the performers, facilitators, participants, and partners who made the fest so meaningful. Your energy and openness brought the space to life. ๐Ÿ’™
