Malathy is an underprivileged woman from Pullianthope, North Chennai. She once worked under difficult conditions, with limited resources and uncertain income. Today, her life has transformed through the Pink Thalluvandi Iron Shop initiative. What was once a daily struggle is now a path of stability, self-respect, and independence.

With the support of this initiative, she now runs her own ironing cart business with pride. More than just a livelihood, it has given her confidence, financial security, and a renewed sense of purpose.

This is not just about an iron shop, it is about empowering women, restoring dignity, and creating opportunities where none existed.

Every Pink Thalluvandi tells a story of resilience. Every woman behind it is a symbol of change.

A powerful step in redefining motherhood.

In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court has affirmed that adoptive mothers are equally entitled to maternity leave, regardless of the child’s age. Until now, many women were denied this basic right if the child they adopted was older than three months, overlooking the emotional, physical, and psychological needs involved in building a new bond.

Motherhood is not defined by childbirth alone, it is shaped by care, connection, and commitment. Adoption is not a lesser form of parenting; it is an equally profound journey that requires time, presence, and love.

This judgment recognizes that every child, no matter when they enter a family, deserves a nurturing environment. And every mother, biological or adoptive, deserves the time to build that bond without institutional barriers.

This historic judgment by the Supreme Court brings adoptive mothers under equal workplace benefits, a long-overdue step towards true equality.

This is more than a legal victory, it is a social shift towards inclusivity, empathy, and equality in parenting.

In July 2025, through Project Thoondil, a pink thalluvandi (moveable cart) was handed over to support her livelihood. Today, after 9 months of relentless hard work, her journey stands as a beautiful example of what true empowerment looks like.

This is not just about a cart. It is about dignity, independence, and the courage to rebuild life with self-respect. Seeing Savitha akka stand strong today is a reminder that when the right support meets unwavering spirit, lives change for the better.

பெண்களுக்கு எதிரான சைபர் குற்றங்கள்! அதிகரிக்கும் அச்சுறுத்தல்!

நவீன தொழில்நுட்ப வளர்ச்சி மனித வாழ்வை எளிமையாக்கியுள்ளது, அதே நேரத்தில் புதிய வகை குற்றங்களுக்கும் வாய்ப்புகளை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. குறிப்பாக பெண்களை குறிவைத்து நடைபெறும் சைபர் குற்றங்கள் நாளுக்கு நாள் அதிகரித்து வருவது கவலைக்கிடமான ஒன்று.

மார்ச் 19, 2026, நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் மத்திய மந்திரி பண்டி சஞ்சய்குமார் அளித்த செய்தி தகவலின்படி, பெண்களுக்கு எதிரான சைபர் குற்றங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை கடந்த ஆண்டுகளுடன் ஒப்பிடும்போது கணிசமாக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. அதாவது 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டு 48335 ஆக இருந்த சைபர் குற்றங்கள் 28322 குற்றப்பதிவுகள் அதிகரித்து 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டு 76657 ஆக உயர்ந்துள்ளது.

பாலியல் ரீதியான ஆபாச செய்திகள் வெளியீடு, இணையவழி பின்தொடர்தல், போலி சுயவிவரங்கள் மற்றும் ஆள்மாறாட்டம், அடையாளத் திருட்டு, மெசேஜிங் பயன்பாடுகள், ஆன்லைன் தளங்கள் வழியாக பெண்களை தொந்தரவு செய்தல், ஈமெயில் ஃபிஷிங், மிரட்டல், தனியுரிமை மீறல், போலி கணக்குகள் உருவாக்குதல், ஆன்லைனில் வேலை வாங்கி தருவதாக ஏமாற்றுதல், குழந்தைகளுக்கு எதிரான பாலியல் குற்றங்கள் போன்ற பல்வேறு குற்றங்களுக்கு பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் சமூக வலைத்தளங்களில் தினந்தோறும் உள்ளாகின்றனர்.

இவ்வாறான குற்றங்கள் பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளின் மனநிலையையும், சமூகத்தில் அவர்களின் பாதுகாப்பு உணர்வையும் பாதிக்கின்றன.

இந்த குற்றங்கள் ஏன் அதிகரிக்கின்றன? முக்கிய காரணங்கள்:
1. டிஜிட்டல் கல்வி பற்றிய குறைபாடு.
2. ஆன்லைன் பாதுகாப்பு விழிப்புணர்வு இல்லாமை.
3. குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு எதிரான தண்டனைகள் குறித்த பயம் இல்லாமை போன்றவை.
4. மேலும் பல பெண்கள் சமூக அவமானம் அல்லது குடும்ப அழுத்தம் காரணமாக புகார் அளிக்க தயங்குவது குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு ஊக்கமளிக்கிறது.

அரசு மற்றும் காவல்துறை இதனை கட்டுப்படுத்த பல நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுத்துவருகின்றன. சைபர் கிரைம் பிரிவுகள் வலுப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன, பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளுக்கான உதவி எண்கள் மற்றும் ஆன்லைன் புகார் தளங்கள் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.

இருந்தாலும், இது மட்டும் போதுமானதாக இல்லை.
சமூக மட்டத்திலும் மாற்றம் அவசியம். பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு டிஜிட்டல் பாதுகாப்பு குறித்த கல்வி அளிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். பள்ளி மற்றும் கல்லூரி மட்டத்திலேயே சைபர் பாதுகாப்பு பாடங்கள் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட வேண்டும். குடும்பங்கள் பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஆதரவாக இருந்து, புகார் அளிக்க தைரியம் அளிக்க வேண்டும். அதேசமயம், குற்றவாளிகள் மீது கடுமையான சட்ட நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.

ஒரு சமூக செயற்பாட்டாளராக , இது ஒரு சட்டப் பிரச்சினை மட்டுமல்ல, மனித உரிமை பிரச்சினை என்பதையும் வலியுறுத்துகின்றேன். பெண்கள் பாதுகாப்பாக இணையத்தை பயன்படுத்தும் சூழலை உருவாக்குவது சமூகத்தின் ஒட்டுமொத்த பொறுப்பாகும்.

மௌனமாக இருப்பதால் குற்றங்கள் குறையாது. அமைதியாக இருந்தால் நாம் குற்றவாளிகளுக்கான சிறந்த தீனியாகி விடுகிறோம். சைபர் குற்றங்களை தடுக்க ஒற்றுமையாக செயல்படுவோம். பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு எதிரான குற்றங்களை எதிர்த்து உரக்க குரல் கொடுப்போம்.

Feeling responsible to be part of the Greater Chennai Police’s AVAL Initiative (Avoid Violence Through Learning and Awareness) in training the police officers as Trainers of Trainers (TOTs).

Delivered video sessions on Victimology, Victim Assistance, and Bystander Intervention, with a special focus on how police personnel should sensitively handle victims, provide crisis intervention, and ensure timely support and protection.

Strengthening empathy, awareness, and victim-centric approach and policing is crucial in building trust and ensuring justice.
