Women’s Day Celebration -Perumbakkam

The Tamil Nadu Domestic Workers’ Welfare Trust organized a Women’s Day celebration in Perumbakkam. The program was conducted to appreciate and empower women in the community.

Around 750 women participated in the programme. Many domestic workers attended and actively took part in the celebration. The program included awareness speeches, motivational talks, and cultural activities.

The celebration encouraged women to understand their rights, build confidence, and support each other.

Day of Hope – Villupuram
Theme: My Nation, My Nutrition

Day of Hope was celebrated successfully in Villupuram with the participation of 250 children. The programme included an Art and Science Exhibition, where children showcased their creativity, innovation, and talents.

Along with the exhibition, children also performed cultural programmes, making the event joyful and meaningful.

A Doctor, Advocate, and Inspector of Police were invited as special guests. They spoke to the children about the importance of nutrition, health, education, safety, and discipline, and motivated them to become responsible citizens of the nation.

The programme created awareness and inspired children to dream, learn, and grow with confidence. 🌱✨

Theme: My Nation, My Nutrition

Day of Hope 2026 was celebrated with joy and cultural pride at St. Joseph’s Group of Institutions.
The programme was led by our Chief Functionary Sr. Josephine Amala Valarmathi, who warmly invited and welcomed all the guests.
Inspiring messages were shared by Mr. Nandha Kumar, Dr. B. Babu Manoharan, Mr. V. G. Santhosam, Mr. N. K. S. Sakthiyvel, Mrs. Sathya Dhanakody, and Dr. Bala Chander. Around 800 children actively participated and showcased their talents through art, science, and cultural programmes. The event highlighted education, nutrition, safety, and children’s rights, inspiring hope and confidence among children.

One Day Meeting on the Status of Tamil Emigrant Workers

The One Day Meeting on the Status of Tamil Emigrant Workers was successfully conducted on 12 January 2026 (Monday) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at The Vijay Park, JN Salai, Arumbakkam, Chennai 600106.

The meeting provided an important platform for discussion, reflection, and collective understanding of the challenges faced by Tamil emigrant workers, while also exploring ways to strengthen their protection, welfare, and rights.

As part of the 16 Days Campaign, a one-on-one mental health counselling session was conducted today for 24 participants. The session saw active and enthusiastic participation. A trained mental health counsellor interacted individually with the participants, providing emotional support and guidance. Interactive activities were also conducted to help participants understand stress management, emotional well-being, and self-awareness. The session was impactful and contributed positively to the overall well-being of the participants.

🟣 Day 12 – Legal Rights Awareness for Domestic Workers

We conducted a legal awareness session for domestic workers in Vyasarpadi.
During the session, we explained their basic rights, important laws, and the government schemes available for their welfare. We also guided them on where to seek help and how to approach legal support when their rights are violated.

A total of 58 domestic workers participated.
They asked many questions related to their workplace issues, and our team clarified all their doubts.

As part of the 16-day awareness campaign, the rally was successfully conducted at Perumbakkam with 136 participants.
The rally focused on standing against violence, and impactful slogans were raised throughout to spread awareness on the need for safety, dignity, and justice.

16-Day Campaign

We held a safety awareness session at Kannagi Nagar with 80 children. Through the “My Safe Hands” activity, children identified trusted adults they can go to when they feel unsafe. We also spoke about safe and unsafe touch, early warning signs, and how to say “No.” The session ended with “I am strong” positive statements.
