Life's circumstances have been hard on them, and all they're asking for is a chance to continue what they started.

₹65,000 covers a full year of school for all three — fees, uniforms, books, stationery, travel.

In many rural parts of India, social norms often limit girls’ opportunities to lead. Playquity tells a different story,one where girls train first, build confidence, and lead through sport. Today, 300 girls are actively training across 13 cohorts in 4 states in India.

What happens when a girl takes the field? She learns more than just how to throw a disc, she learns to take up space.

​At Playquity, sport is our catalyst. In 13 cohorts across India, we use Ultimate Frisbee and life skills training to foster leadership from within.

​When one girl steps up as a peer leader, (we call them, coaches-in-training) she doesn’t just transform her own journey, she becomes a mentor, a decision-maker, and a role model for the girls around her.

And once again, it’s the start of something new. Doors are opening up for a likely new Playquity cohort near Thiruvannamlai, in a village called Kozhipuliur, where Kavitha, our coach-in-training, has been putting in so much hard work. ​The local government school has just agreed to allow Frisbee and life skills sessions during school hours. It’s amazing to see her effort pay off and watch this open up for a new group of children. Excited to see where this journey takes them. :)

​We are looking for 10 smartphones to support the young girls leading Playquity's cohorts. These devices are essential tools that help our Coaches-in-Training log cohort data, join strength training sessions, and attend spoken English classes.

Pass by any maidan or village ground in India, and you already know what it looks like: overwhelmingly male. As girls grow into their early teens, the open spaces available to them usually start to shrink. They disappear from the streets, from the playgrounds, and from public sight.

​At Playquity, we are changing that, one village ground at a time. Across over 11 communities now in India, we are ensuring these girls don’t have to step back inside.

​Breaking through generations of deep-set mindsets and societal expectations takes time. It isn't as easy as it sounds, but over the years, we've seen how consistent knocks pay off. Every evening when these girls run under the open sky, shouting calls and throwing a Frisbee, we see a glimpse of a new reality. They are claiming their right to be seen, to lead, and to take up space.
