This isn't just another workshop,it's Cohort #14 for us, and the excitement in the field (and on our team) is through the roof. There is nothing quite like the day-one energy of a new cohort: the nervous anticipation, the big dreams, and the collective spark of people ready to learn and grow.

Every year since we launched Playquity in 2021, we’ve run the "Playquity Academy", an annual six-week residential intensive. It’s where our coaches-in-training from across 4 different rural communities in India dive deep into advanced frisbee, life skills, and cultural exchange.For most of these girls, this is one of the very few times they step outside their village. We make the best of that time to provide experiences that truly shape who they are when they return home. While numbers alone can’t do justice to the shift in confidence we see, these metrics from 2024 and 2025 capture the steady progress of our coaches-in-training through the Academy. We are already looking ahead to Playquity Academy 2026 and starting to build the foundation for our next cohort.If you're interested in what we do, write to us at [email protected].

At a recent tournament hosted by our partner , our Playquity girls got the opportunity to step onto the field and play.For many of them, moments like these are big. A chance to be seen, to take up space, and to experience sport beyond regular practice. The energy on the field was matched by the community that came together to watch and cheer. It meant a lot not just to the girls, but to everyone present.Opportunities like these matter so much for our girls. It opens up new possibilities and reminds our girls that they belong wherever they choose to go.

At Playquity, we go beyond sport to build life skills: Spoken English is one of them because language can open doors to opportunities many girls might not otherwise access.Our coaches learn from AIF Banyan fellow Henna, and then carry that learning forward, teaching their own cohorts and creating a powerful cycle of growth.Today, this ripple of learning has reached over 500 girls across rural landscapes in India.

At Playquity, we’re working toward a world where girls can run and play freely.What began as a simple dream: to build equity has grown into a movement. Starting with girls and using ultimate frisbee as our tool, we’re now empowering 507 young women across rural India to grow, lead, and believe in themselves.

This is a big moment for us at Playquity. For the first time ever, our women leaders are mentoring young boys from the community, flipping the script on patriarchy in the most powerful way. This vision is coming alive in Assam, where we have announced the official launch of our first ever boys cohort. And while sports skills are a big part of the journey, we’re just as committed to helping these boys grow with empathy, respect, and understanding.

With Playquity, young girls across India wield the frisbee to break barriers that have long stood in their way.
