The Livelihood Support Programme and Education Support Programme help persons with spinal cord injury and their families move forward with confidence, dignity, and opportunity.

In FY 2025–26, TGF supported entrepreneurs in strengthening their livelihoods and enabled students to continue their education despite financial challenges. From expanding small businesses to ensuring school and college education continues uninterrupted, every intervention creates pathways toward long-term independence.

Kulbir Singh from Tarn Taran, Punjab, sustained a spinal cord injury in 2018 after a fall while working as a laborer, leaving him bedridden.

When first connected with TGF, he had limited awareness about proper care. Over time, due to lack of a proper cushion and wheelchair, he developed bedsores. With timely guidance from TGF Peer Trainer under the Spinal India Peer Trainer Programme (SIPT), he followed the right care practices and recovered.

Further support came through The Right Wheelchair Programme, where he received a suitable wheelchair, improving his comfort and mobility.

Today, Kulbir is healthier, more mobile, and preparing to begin his rehabilitation journey — a crucial step towards independence.
