From lived experience to Policy gaps.
From Guitar strings to finger puppets.
From Poetry to Painting.
The participants brought a variety of artform to the stage on a common note that " There's no Climate Justice without Social Justice".

Thank you, each one of you for starting the conversations along this road, we've got a long way ahead with a lot of twists and turns , ups and downs, hope we'll stay in touch, meet at the crossroads where ever possible.

*POLITICAL OPEN MIC + PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION for CLIMATE WEEK INDIA 2026* 🎤

The Chennai Climate Action Group invites storytellers, poets, musicians, comedians, artists, students, workers, and citizens to take the stage.
Come share your perspective on the local and social justice issues that arise due to climate change issues that affect our city like the El Nino effect, heating and flooding.

Whether your story is about climate, governance, identity, technology, labor, public services, democracy, or everyday life—we want to hear it.

Because the most important political conversations often begin with personal stories.

Register as a speaker and bring your voice to the conversation.
There will also be a photography exhibition on heat and flooding issues in Chennai, showcasing photos taken by members of the Youth Climate Resilience Movement.

*Don't look up: Climate Resilience Built From The Ground Up*
As part of Climate Week India 2026, CCAG is organising a photography exhibition, showcasing works of the children of Rampuram and Vyasarpadi from the Youth climate resilience movement . They have covered heat and flood issues that Chennai faces every year. Come support these talented youth and learn more about how they've been working in their communities to combat the environment and social injustices.
There's also an open mic event happening at the same time. Please contact us for more information regarding the same.

CCAG is a space created by young people to bring unheard voices to the forefront and to create a safe space for young people to think, question, discuss, and act.

Running as a volunteer-led forum for more than seven years would not have been possible without the incredible young people who have contributed their time, energy, ideas, and courage along the way.

As we mark this journey, we want to take a moment to thank all our friends, mentors, supporters, collaborators, and everyone who has stood with us, challenged us, and helped us grow.

CCAG is built by people, and this journey belongs to all of us.

CCAG is organising a tour of key Chennai water bodies, essential to the city's well being especially in the fight against climate change. Learn more about how these water bodies make Chennai what it is and how the city is slowly losing this important identity. Join on on this exciting trip and learn more about the local ecosystems, communities and how they have lived in harmony for ages and how this is under threat now.

Commons of care - A Porombokkiyal Panel Discussion. While the world around them chasing venues, they were asking a simpler question — what does it mean to create space?
A heartfelt conversation with Sarath Kumar G and pagirchennai41 on how creating space for education and participatory interactions with fellow human beings and nature is need of the hour.
A conversation, a story telling, a livelihood narrative, a forgotten habit, reality of the commons, a different perspective of poromboku all in one conversation. Thank you Vyasai Thozhargal and pagirchennai41 for showing us poromboku not as empty land, but as commons — held, shared, and worth fighting for.

Children from the Climate & Heat Resilience Initiative presented their report — "The Future Amidst Scorching Heat" — directly to key officials shaping Chennai's climate response:
The GCC Commissioner
The Director of School Education
The District Collector
In these meetings, children shared their research findings from the field and put forward their demands for heat-safe schools and communities — turning their observations into advocacy, and their voices into policy conversations.
