The General Conference 2026-cum-Felicitation of Retired Employees and Annual Sports Meet Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Chakma District Council Employeesโ Association (CDCEA) was held on 8 January 2026 at the Art & Culture Hall, Kamalanagar, marking the successful conclusion of the tenure of the 11th Executive Body of CDCEA.
The outgoing Executive Body, constituted on 26 June 2023 for a three-year term, formally completed its tenure during the one-day conference.
Executive Secretary of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), Dg. Pronit Bikash Chakma, attended the programme as Chief Guest during the morning and evening sessions, while Dg. Digambar Chakma, Secretary to the District Council Secretariat, graced the night session as Chief Guest.
The event witnessed the presence of several senior officials and dignitaries, including Dg. Jagadish Chakma, DCAO; Dg. Buddhaguru Chakma, Sr. FAO; Dg. Doya Moy Dhammei, DCHO; Dg. Nilo Ranjan Chakma, DCCF; Dg. Prabin Chakma, PDO; Dg. Roy Manikya Chakma, Secretary, DSEB; Dgb. Jyotsna Chakma, DCSWO; and Dgb. Renu Chakma, ACO, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Dg. Pronit Bikash Chakma appreciated the outgoing Executive Body for undertaking meaningful initiatives such as the regular organisation of Annual Conferences and Sports Meets, cleanliness drives, and the introduction of the Employee of the Year Award, which have strengthened unity and cooperation among employees.
Founder President of CDCEA, Dg. Digambar Chakma, also lauded the Executive Body for its consistent efforts towards employee welfare and recalled the circumstances under which the Association was formed, reiterating its founding objectives.
Five Resolutions Adopted
The General Conference concluded with the adoption of the following five resolutions:
1. Financial Assistance to Meritorious Students/Wards
A one-time contribution of โน100 per member will be collected from all CDCEA members to provide financial assistance to meritorious students or wards pursuing undergraduate or higher studies, selected through national-level examinations such as NEET, JEE, CLAT, and ICAI Foundation, subject to prescribed conditions.
2. Financial Benefit to Outgoing Members
Upon resignation or termination from service, members will be entitled to a refund of โน20,000 or 50% of their total contribution, whichever is lower. This benefit will not apply in cases of termination or expulsion as per CDCEA rules.
3. Enhancement of Death/Pension Gratuity
The full amount collected for a particular pensioner will be disbursed to the beneficiary, with contributions collected from one monthโs salary for only two pensioners at a time.
4. Ensuring Safety and Transparency of Association Funds
The President, General Secretary, and Treasurer will be jointly responsible for any misuse or misappropriation of Association funds, with provisions for collective recovery. Any project involving expenditure of โน10 lakh or above** will require prior approval of the General Body.
5. Commencement Clause
All resolutions will take effect immediately and remain in force until amended or repealed by a subsequent General Conference.
The General Election for the 12th Executive Body of CDCEA is scheduled to be held on 9 January 2026 at the CDCEA Office Building, Kamalanagar.
