Composters from Rajajinagar experienced Devarakaadu and meditated in the mudhut. Even the non meditators found it easy to follow my guided meditation!

It was delightful to see the youngsters also immersed in the conversations.

I didnt have to think about arrangements

Shekar and Mangalamma had the two huts cleaned and fresh cowdung coating of the floor. Beautiful Rangoli is by Mangalamma

They also got to taste low water footprint superfoods like horsegram holige, tuber based roti. Fruit ferments of dodli , wild lemon and cherries.

We are having workshop after 3 yrs.

Not able to believe its an Otter. Or Neer Nayi in kannada
Paw marks are smaller than a dogs

After heavy rains it has dug up n rolled near rosemary patch.
Arrowroot stem pulled out...

Shekar is sure to have seen Neer Nayi, waddling around
But are there otters in these parts? Kanva river flows few hundred feet from Devarakaadu area other side is Malur lake 1000 acre.... 500 mts away.

Anyone knows if they live in these parts?

Pepper planting can be done in 3 to 4 days from cuttings of creeper spread on the ground....
Harvested it to send to a friends farm

Aromatic plants cultivation
Sourced planting material from CIMAP

Plan is to setup a small distillation unit if we are able to grow enough herbage.
Anyway we use them in PraanaPoorna Collective
products as fragrance replacement.

Drip irrigation also in place though these plants need very less water.

Every rain mangoes are doubling in size.....
Next week will be the last harvest.
Can you hear them ?!

Yes - birds and insects can also feast on our mangoes.

One third share is for them !
I learnt our ancestors did this from a chittara tribal painting. Wisdom was if you let the rats take your grain into their burrows, the same can be taken from them for seeds during famine.....

Pest control concentrate diluted with water to make 0.5% solution. Add 1 lt concentrate to 200 lt water.

Spray at the flowering stage
Works excellent as pest repellent and soapnut / shikakai enzymes act as anti fungal.

Foot pump is working well over 3 yrs now.
