🌳 International Day of Forests 2026 🌍
Theme: Forests and Food 🌱
Forests are not vacant land for development, they are living ecosystems that sustain food security, biodiversity, climate balance, and human survival.
On this day, Youth Eco Revolution (YER) takes a clear and uncompromising stand:
🛑 No relaxation for converting forest land into commercial zones in the name of development.
Across regions like Dahegaon (Nagpur), Lohara–Dongri (Chandrapur), and Gadchiroli, forest areas are increasingly under pressure due to industrial expansion and projects justified as “development.” But without proper implementation of sustainable development principles, such actions result in irreversible ecological damage.
⚠️ Development without environmental integrity is not progress, it is destruction.
🌿 Forests are directly linked to food systems:
They maintain soil fertility
Protect water sources
Support agriculture and local livelihoods
Sustain biodiversity essential for food chains
📢 Therefore, we demand:
🔸 Strict protection of existing forest areas with zero tolerance for unjustified diversion
🔸 Transparent and accountable environmental clearances
🔸 Proper implementation of sustainable development, not just on paper but on ground
🔸 Recognition of urban forests, wetlands, and mangroves as integral parts of forest ecosystems
🔸 Expansion of conservation policies to include all eco-sensitive landscapes
📜 As per Article 51-A(g), it is the fundamental duty of every citizen to protect and improve the natural environment.
🌱 This International Day of Forests 2025, let’s not just celebrate forests, let’s defend them.
🛑 No Forests = No Food = No Future
🌍 Protect Forests. Protect Life.
