Aniversário de Ganesha - Comemorado no dia 19
de Setembro na Índia (18 a partir da noite no Brasil)

Ganesha é reverenciado como aquele que remove obstáculos, patrono das artes e senhor do intelecto e da sabedoria.
Filho de Shiva e Parvati, Ganesha é hoje um dos mais populares, dentre os que pertencem ao panteão Hindu, e amplamente adorado inclusive em outros países como Nepal e Sri Lanka.

O Ganesh Chaturthi é a comemoração que marca o seu nascimento e nele devotos colocam figuras de barro de Ganesha (murtis) em suas casas como parte da tradição, além de entoarem hinos védicos e textos sagrados. Devotos também fazem oferendas que inclui a modaka, um doce tradicional que é considerado o favorito de Lorde Ganesha.
