It has its own building with Training/Meeting Hall. First Aid, Bed side patient care Training, Polyclinic and Ambulance services are operating. Indian Red Cross Society established under Act XV, 1920 as called Indian Red Cross Society Act 1920 (As amended by Act No. 22 of 1956 and the Adaptation of Laws (No.4) Order 1957 and the Act. 14 of 1992). As per rules the Sub-Divisional branch is functioni
ng under Hooghly District Branch and as well as under West Bengal State Branch. As per Indian Red Cross Society Sub-Divisional Branch rules, SDO of the Sub-Division is The Chairman and The Assistant Chief Medical Officer of Health, The Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, The Chairman of the adjacent Municipality, and The BDO of nearest Block are Ex-Officio Members of the Executive body. Therefore, seven Executive Members of the organization are Ex-officio. Nature of activities are First Aid Training, Bed side patient care training, disaster preparedness, Ambulance service, running of charitable clinic, Aged Care services, nursing care and attended services, Blood donation camps, etc. But, due to few management operational problems functioning of the organization halted in the year 2010. In mid 2011 it rejuvenated and started activities with the initiative of the then MLA, SDO, Hon’ble Mayor and few Social Workers and well-wishers in the area. Therefore, the present Committee formed and started functioning for the organization. Now, First Aid Training, Bed side patient care Training, Polyclinic and Ambulance services are in operational. Awareness campaign through IEC activities under PC&PNDT Programme for Save the Girl Child has launched with the support of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, govt. The Committee about to start, Junior Red Cross with the School children and Youth Red Cross with College students, , side by side willing to run few development project works like Mobile Clinic and Community Health Awareness. End of last year, conducted Skill Development Training for the Domestic Helps under Labour Department, Govt. of West Bengal organized by the Directorate of Employment in four Sub-Division areas in Hooghly District.
