Fighting malnutrition in India is a massive, multi-front effort. While the country has made significant economic strides, it still carries a heavy share of the global burden of undernutrition, alongside a huge issue of iron deficiency for the lactating mothers.
As of 2026, the country has started to move beyond just "providing food" to focusing on targeted nutrition and behavioral change.
Manipal Business Solutions under the guidance of TMG Sunidhi Foundation Trust initiated a targeted project, NRICH under CSR program in 2025-26 by starting a pilot with 100 children in the age bracket of 6 months to 3 years. The project launched on Children's Day 2025, proposes to identify the kids and work with the mothers to create awareness, counseling by a qualified nutritionist to help behavioral change, and finally, offering nutritional supplements to the kids.
An event was organized on 24th February 2026 at Shibganj, South 24 Paraganas in West Bengal. This district has a high concentration of both malnourished children as well as mothers with iron deficiency. About 50 mothers attended with their kids who were personally counseled by Ms Sayantani Chatterjee, Popular Nutrition Coach of Kolkata. She explained how simple homemade food can be useful to fight malnutrition for their kids. Later, Hampers of Nutritional Supplement was handed over to the mothers for their kids. The project is managed by Ananta Seva Foundation, CSR partner of Manipal Business Solutions. On this occasion a helpline number was shared with the ladies where they can contact to get their queries responded to by Ms Chatterjee. The mothers were visibly moved by the great gesture by the Manipal Group.
