Alka Jalan Foundation is a multi-disciplinary cultural venue and community arts establishment. Founded in 1982, the cultural center that has been built on a heritage property in Ballygunj Circular Road, Kolkata, WB is complete with an air conditioned mid-size concert hall, large open-air garden with artificial lighting and a mid-size garden for events and an indoor parking of more than 20 cars. A

lka Jalan Foundation is credited with hosting various programs with acclaimed as well as upcoming national artists and countless charity shows with NGO's for various social causes primarily children's education. Some luminaries that have graced the AJF include Pt. Birju Maharaj, Hollywood actress Ashley Judd and the Mangniars of Rajasthan amongst others. The foundation is a firm believer in showcasing breathtaking young talent as well. Be it music, dance, literature, art, spirituality or charitable causes, the Alka Jalan Foundation has stood up to encourage and embrace. As promised, Shaam-e-Yaman was a musical gem of an evening inspired by Raag Yaman.
Supriya Newar, who conceptualized the program, enthralled the packed house with her narration and musicality and Moin Khan wowed them with his vocal virtuosity. Together, they brought alive evergreen songs and ghazals based on Raag Yaman, treating each number with a soulful rendition that left the audience asking for more.
