A safe start for every chick is helping farmers build a stronger future. 🐥🌱

Under the FFVDP project of YCDA, poultry sheds are supporting farmers by protecting chicks from threats and harsh weather during their most vulnerable stage.

This initiative is helping farmers reduce losses, improve survival rates, and gradually build a more reliable source of income and nutrition for their families.

With this support, farmers are moving forward with greater confidence, stability, and hope. 💛

After receiving advanced sewing training through the Desai Skill & Livelihood Program implemented by YCDA, our talented members are now confidently producing high-quality bags 👜 that reflect both skill and creativity.

But that’s not all! 🌟 They have also expanded their expertise to stitching kurtis and other garments, opening up new avenues for income and self-reliance. 👗

This journey is not just about skill-building it’s about dignity, independence, and creating sustainable livelihoods. ❤️

Congratulations to the Youth Council for Development Alternatives (YCDA) on signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Directorate of Horticulture (DDH), Angul for the APC Project in Chhendipada block (2026–2031).

This milestone is not just an achievement for YCDA, but a major step forward for the farmers of Chhendipada. The project will focus on strengthening farmers’ livelihoods by promoting improved agricultural and horticulture practices, enhancing productivity, and creating sustainable income opportunities at the grassroots level.

✨ From Insights to Impact ✨

The core team of YCDA visited the APC Loisingha Project as part of the Annual Internal Monitoring Visit, with a focus on understanding the progress made and identifying areas for further improvement.

The visit created space for meaningful engagement with women farmers and Producer Groups (PGs), offering first-hand insights into their experiences, achievements, and challenges. It was an opportunity to closely observe how community institutions are evolving and contributing towards sustainable livelihoods.

Through field observations and team interactions, important learnings emerged around strengthening group functioning, improving systems, and enhancing overall implementation quality.

A reflection session with the project team further enabled open dialogue, where ideas, feedback, and practical suggestions were shared to refine strategies and deepen impact.

💡 Grounded in learning and guided by community voices, we continue to move forward building stronger systems and more resilient communities.
