SYM is working in 5 districts of Bilaspur, Kawardha,korba,Mungeli and Sarguja of Chhattisgarh covering 273 villages directly and indirectly along with 22 partners. It has good experience in working with children and education issue. In Kawardha district SYM is working on education and child issue especially on language issue in the inter state border areas of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. In Sarguja and Bilaspur, SYM is initiating child rights issues and working on education for all, ensuring proper service delivery. In Bilaspur district SYM also initiating advocacy process through CBOs and facilitating them to raise their voice for their rights and provisions under MNREGA. With regard to health issues SYM is working in mobilizing and facilitating community for institutional delivery, vaccination of children and expecting mothers. SYM had also trained health workers in villages for first aid treatment of the community and on seasonal diseases. Climate change, disability and gender are the cross cutting concerns which the organisation addresses through all its programmes and projects.

True development happens when the most advanced services reach the most remote doorsteps. At Shikhar Yuva Manch (SYM), our mission has always been to bridge the gap between quality healthcare and rural accessibility.

In a significant stride toward this goal, we recently organized a Specialist Dermatology Mega Health Camp in Village Sendripali, Korba. Operated under the SBI Sanjeevani Mobile Medical Unit project, this initiative was made possible through the unwavering support of the SBI Foundation and SBI-SGGLOBAL.

Many in our rural communities suffer from skin conditions like fungal infections and allergies but lack the means to travel to cities for specialist care. To address this, we brought the expertise of Dr. Vikas Singh Chandel directly to the people. The results speak for themselves: 186 patients were treated, and 65 diagnostic lab tests were performed—all entirely free of cost.

A project of this scale succeeds because of a dedicated team. We extend our gratitude to Project Coordinator Bhavna Shukla, our medical staff including Dr. Mahesh Patel and Dr. Raghu Sahu, and the entire ground team for ensuring every patient was registered, tested, and provided with necessary medication.

Awareness and prevention are key to a malaria-free community. 🦟
With the support of SBI Foundation and SBISG Global, a World Malaria Day Awareness Program was conducted on 25 April 2026 at Villages Khusroopali and Bichhladadar, Mahasamund (Chhattisgarh) by Shikhar Yuva Manch. The initiative focused on spreading awareness and implementing preventive measures to control malaria.

During the campaign, larvicide spraying was carried out in waterlogged areas to prevent mosquito breeding. Villagers were educated about symptoms such as fever, chills, and body pain, along with the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment. Emphasis was also placed on clean surroundings, avoiding water stagnation, and regular use of mosquito nets.

A total of 28 community members actively participated, reflecting strong local engagement toward building a healthier and safer environment.

On the occasion of World Malaria Day, Shikhar Yuva Manch (SYM) took a decisive step toward safeguarding rural health by organizing a comprehensive awareness and action program in the villages of Bandhapali and Ghinara. We believe that grassroots empowerment begins with a healthy community, and today’s initiative focused on turning medical knowledge into life-saving habits. Our health experts engaged with 45 dedicated villagers, explaining the critical nature of malaria symptoms—ranging from high fever and chills to debilitating weakness—and how early detection can prevent tragic outcomes.

Action on the ground was immediate and visible our teams led a massive sanitation drive, applying bleaching powder and specialized treatments to stagnant water bodies to systematically destroy mosquito breeding sites. Beyond the technical interventions, the heart of the program was encouraging community ownership of hygiene. Villagers were sensitized about the simple yet effective use of mosquito nets and the importance of keeping their domestic surroundings dry.

This mission to protect our rural families is fueled by the vital support of the SBI Foundation and SBI-SG Global, whose commitment to sustainable development allows us to reach the most remote corners of Madhya Pradesh. On the occasion of World Malaria Day 2026, Shikhar Yuva Manch (SYM) took a decisive stand against one of the most persistent health challenges in rural India. In a powerful collaboration with the SBI Foundation and SBI-SGGlobal, we organized a comprehensive malaria prevention and awareness drive across the villages of Khusrupali and Bichladadar in Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh.

We believe that prevention is not just a practice but a community responsibility. Our team, alongside 28 dedicated local participants, moved beyond simple conversation to direct action. We identified critical waterlogging areas—the primary breeding grounds for mosquitoes—and applied larvicide to disrupt the malaria cycle at its source. This hands-on approach is vital in protecting the community during the transition of seasons.

During our awareness sessions, we focused on the "Three Pillars of Protection": Recognition, Prevention, and Treatment. Villagers were educated on how to spot early warning signs like recurring fever and body aches, the life-saving importance of sleeping under mosquito nets, and the necessity of seeking immediate clinical testing rather than relying on home remedies.

Through the support of the SBI Foundation and SBI-SGGlobal , we are empowering these villages to transform from vulnerable areas into "Malaria-Safe" zones. By combining scientific larvae control with grassroots education, we are ensuring that the residents of Mahasamund can lead healthier, more productive lives. At Shikhar Yuva Manch, we believe that health is the absolute foundation of all progress at the grassroots level, as a community can only thrive when its people are protected. Marking World Malaria Day with decisive action, our SBI Sanjeevani MMU team reached Koitpal village in the remote interiors of Bijapur to bridge the healthcare gap. We engaged 84 community members in a vital dialogue, simplifying complex medical advice into actionable daily habits—from the disciplined use of mosquito nets to the strategic management of stagnant water. The energy was palpable as the villagers took a collective "Sankalp" (pledge) to maintain clean surroundings, turning awareness into a shared responsibility.

Our intervention went far beyond conversation; we brought the laboratory to the doorstep, conducting 35 Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDT) on-site. This immediate screening allowed us to identify two positive cases, who were instantly provided with life-saving treatment kits. Simultaneously, our team worked to eliminate the threat at its source by spraying larvicide and bleaching powder across potential breeding grounds. This vital mission, made possible through the unwavering support of the SBI Foundation , is a testament to what is achievable when professional healthcare reaches the last mile. Together, we are not just treating a disease; we are building a sustainable, malaria-free future for every village in Chhattisgarh.

True change begins when a community decides to pick up the broom together.

In Village Bhalukona, our Sanjeevani Team turned the vision of Swachh Bharat into a practical reality on the ground. We didn’t just talk about cleanliness; we actively treated public water sources to prevent disease. Every drop of safe water and every clean street is a step toward a healthier future.

A vital part of our mission was breaking the silence around menstrual hygiene management. By providing adolescent girls with sanitary pads and safe disposal knowledge, we are fostering dignity. We also equipped the village with essential tools like dustbins, brooms, and disinfectants for long-term use.

This holistic drive is a testament to the power of community ownership and local action. We are deeply grateful to the SBI Foundation and SBI-SGGLOBAL for their incredible support. Their partnership allows the Sanjeevani Mobile Medical Unit to reach the heart of rural India. Together, we are building a "Clean Village – Healthy Village" one doorstep at a time.
