Proper nutrition in the first years of a child’s life sets the foundation for a resilient community. On Day 5 of World Breastfeeding Week, Shikhar Yuva Manch’s Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in Rajnandgaon reached Diwantola Village to host a vital, interactive awareness session focused on maternal and infant health.

Our on-ground team connected directly with 37 pregnant women, lactating mothers, and supportive family members. We emphasized the life-saving benefits of initiating breastfeeding within the first hour of birth and the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months. Beyond sharing medical facts about immunological benefits, our team created a safe, open space to discuss real-world challenges, correct feeding techniques, and the crucial role that entire families play in supporting maternal wellness.

Grassroots healthcare is about more than just treating illnesses; it is about empowering rural families with the knowledge they need to raise healthy, thriving children. We are deeply grateful to the SBI Foundation n for their unwavering partnership, which enables our mobile medical teams to reach remote villages and deliver transformative health education right to their doorsteps. Together, we are building a healthier future for the next generation.

True community development starts from the very beginning of life. On August 5th in Village Padeda, Bijapur, our team brought essential healthcare education directly to the people. Using our Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), we hosted an interactive TV film presentation focused entirely on breastfeeding awareness and maternal health.

It was incredibly encouraging to see 35 local women and community members step away from their daily routines to actively participate, ask questions, and share their own experiences. Empowering rural mothers with accurate nutritional knowledge ensures that infants grow up healthy, creating a strong foundation for sustainable village development. When mothers are supported, entire communities thrive.

A special thank you to the SBI Foundation for their continued partnership in making these grassroots health initiatives possible. Together, we are bridging the healthcare gap in rural India, one village at a time.
