In regions where access often defines opportunity, the Gram Seva Kendra (GSK) in Palasi Block, Araria District ,is steadily transforming how rural communities connect with essential services and information. More than just a service point, the centre has evolved into a trusted community hub for bridging gaps between citizens and the systems meant to serve them.

The Gram Seva Kendra continues to serve as a vital access point for essential digital services and welfare information. Community members regularly visit the centre for Aadhaar-related support, registrations, and basic documentation services like printing and photocopying. At the same time, the centre plays a crucial role in spreading awareness about government and social welfare schemes, enabling individuals to better understand their entitlements and take informed steps toward accessing them.

Supported by SBI Foundation and implemented by Bhartiya Jan Utthan Parishad , this initiative reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that rural citizens are not left behind in the digital age. By enabling access, building awareness, and strengthening local capacities, we are fostering communities that are not only digitally connected but also informed, confident, and empowered to claim their rights and opportunities.

Sabiyatanr Panchayat, located nearly 32 kilometers from the block town and 65 kilometers from the district headquarters, had long remained cut off from essential government services and livelihood. Most families depended on mica picking and forest resources for survival, with limited access to education, social security schemes, or alternative livelihoods. For the community, government support systems were not just distant.

The project team began by engaging closely with community members, village influencers, and local stakeholders to understand the realities on the ground. Through these discussions, itbecame clear that the Panchayat had remained largely untouched by departmental outreach, especially in terms of social security coverage. This highlighted a critical gap and an urgent need for intervention.
Recognizing this, BJUP established Jan Suwidha Kendras at village level which is being operated by the Village Volunteer and itโ€™s a offline set-up, where volunteer does the door-to-door visit and identifies the beneficiary, collects the evidences and keeps the record, then finally informs to Kiosk Operator (Md. Skibul Hasan) and Jan Suwidha Kiosk at Panchayat levels, which a online one-stop-centre where have the strong internet access along with required equipment and it is non-paid service provider from the community members to bridge the gap between the community and government services.

These centres became a one-stop solution for information, documentation, and facilitation of various schemes. Slowly but steadily, change began to take root. Through the consistent efforts of the project team and the accessibility provided by the Kendras, 298 community members have so far been successfully linked to different social security schemes. Women have started benefiting from the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, pregnant and lactating mothers are now receiving Take Home Rations through Anganwadi Centers, and many individuals have secured MGNREGA job cards, Ayushman cards, and essential documents like caste, income, and residence certificates.

Sabiyatanr Panchayat is gradually transforming from a neglected and disconnected region into a community that is aware, empowered, and increasingly included in the development process. While challenges still remain, the establishment of Jan Suwidha Kendras has created a strong foundation for sustained access to rights and entitlements.

Lighting the Path to Self Reliance:Candle making Training for Livelihood ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Empowerment is taking shape in Mena Santhal Tola of Palasi Block of Araria, where 14 women from the Santhal community are currently receiving intensive training in the art of candle-making under the Gram Seva project. Supported by the SBI Foundation and Bhartiya Jan Utthan Parishad, this hands-on initiative is designed to turn a simple craft into a sustainable source of income, fostering true "Swavalamban" (self-reliance) within the heart of the community.

โ€‹The process is a beautiful display of teamwork. From meticulously setting wicks in metal molds to carefully pouring molten wax, these trainees are gaining technical skills that bridge the gap between traditional labor and entrepreneurship. Each candle produced represents a tangible step toward financial agency and a more secure future for their families.

โ€‹Investing in rural talent is the most direct route to lasting social impact. By providing these women with the tools for vocational growth through Gram Seva,we are building a foundation for economic independence while honoring the resilient spirit of the Santhal community. It is inspiring to see them light the way toward a more resilient and self-sufficient path.

Education is one of the most meaningful gifts we can offer a community, it opens doors, builds confidence, and nurtures dreams. ๐Ÿซ๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ“š

In Sabiyatanr Panchayat, under our Community Empowerment Program, a small but powerful change is taking shape. Our newly set up Community Library and Remedial Classes in Rajauli Block are slowly becoming a second home for children, a space where they feel safe, supported, playful and inspired to learn.

These remedial classes go beyond textbooks. They are helping bridge learning gaps, giving children the attention and encouragement they need to move forward with confidence and curiosity. ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

Thereโ€™s something truly special about watching a child discover the joy of reading or finally understand something they once found difficult. In those moments, you can feel the spark of change.๐Ÿ’ซ
