As part of the 58th Founder's Day celebrations, Velemegna Eye Hospital (Dr. Salins Eye Hospital), Bidar, successfully conducted a training program for 100 Government Community Health Officers (CHOs) from across Bidar District.

The program was presided over by Dr. Kiran Patil, District Leprosy Officer (DLO), and Mr. Philemon Raj Prasad, Administrator of Velemegna Eye Hospital.

The training sessions were conducted by Dr. Veerendar Patil, Mr. Puttraj Ballurkar, and Ms. Sheeba M. Elizabeth, focusing on enhancing eye care awareness, early detection, and community-based eye health services.

Dr. Salins Eye Hospital, Bidar, successfully celebrated Founders Day on 06-06-2026 with great enthusiasm, gratitude, and a spirit of service. The occasion was dedicated to honoring the inspiring legacy of our beloved founders, whose vision and commitment to serving humanity continue to guide our mission.

As part of the celebration, a special Free Eye Screening and Cataract Surgery Program was organized for the benefit of the community. Hundreds of patients from Bidar and surrounding areas availed themselves of comprehensive eye examinations, vision testing, consultations, and treatment services. Many patients suffering from cataracts and other eye disorders were identified and received timely medical attention.

The program brought hope and improved vision to numerous individuals, especially those from economically weaker sections who otherwise have limited access to quality eye care. Free cataract surgeries were performed for eligible patients, helping them regain their sight and improve their quality of life.
