Our Story

Development Resource and Training Centre (DRTC), a full-fledged participatory training and reflection Centre of CYSD (Centre for Youth and Social Development), was established in 1989 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Since its inception, DRTC has been constantly striving to strengthen the process of “active learning” in the field of social development, building the capacities of organizations and individuals engaged in different facets of development.

DRTC follows the pedagogical processes of learning, sharing, reflective thinking, problem-solving, etc. in all its training programmes. It has set its own bar of quality standards in providing training in the areas of Sustainable Rural Livelihood, Inclusive and Participatory Governance including Health, Water & Sanitation, and Gender, Disaster Management & Risk Reduction, and Climate Change Adaption.

More importantly, DRTC is intended to bring changes in the perceptive of community people and governance actors to promote transparency and accountability both at meso level and macro level. The centre is a great platform for multiple stakeholders like community-based organizations (CBOs), Non-Government Development Organizations, Civil Society, Government, academia, research institutes and private sector to have development dialogues and build up a shared understanding on the development challenges and address them through a collaborative approach.
