NIRMAN launches a new program in the Kandhamal district of Odisha. It is named SEEDLING (Supporting Earth & Environment through Development, Learning, Innovation, Nurture & Growth) and is supported by Terre Des Hommes (TDH), Germany.
At the micro level, the project improves environmental education and climate awareness among children and youth, and supports them to see themselves as important actors in responding to climate change. The project also helps communities adopt climate-smart and sustainable practices and works with local authorities to include climate priorities in village and district planning and governance processes leading to carbon sequestration and lower CO2 emissions.
In the orientation session the Executive Director explained the overall aim of the TDH SEEDLING Project. The TDH Programme Officer facilitated a detailed session on the project framework, covering the project goals, expected outcomes, indicators, and major activities.
