The Indian institute of Welding Bhubaneswar Chapter headed by its Chairman Dr Omkar Nath Mohanty and UCCIL represented by Shri J.K Rath Vice President Industry signed an MOU on 17th June at 5pm at the mini Convention Hall of IMMT the purpose of this MOU is to establish a collaborative relationship between IIW(INDIA) , Bhubaneswar Odisha and The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd (UCCIL).The objective is to provide support to industries in solving problems relating to welding particularly MSMEs , Reskilling existing work men, making industries aware of the Development and Advancement in welding technology and adopt best practices which is Practiced world wide .The entire MOU and the initiative was the brain child of Er Gyana Ranjan Mohanty Chairman MSME Committee UCCIL in consultation and Direction of Dr Prabodh Mohanty President UCCIL.Present were Er Gyana Ranjan Mohanty Chairman MSME Committee UCCIL and Advisor to UCCIL Board, Er Ali Kishore Patnaik Advisor to UCCIL Board and Co Chairman MSME Committee and Dr Sanjeev Mahapatra Hony Secretary UCCIL apart from the same the CEO OF World Skill Centre and the Director IMMT were the key witness in Signing of the MOU.The focal point to take the MOU forward is Shri Gyana Ranjan Mohanty Chairman MSME Committee UCCIL.

Today i.e on 12th June at 2pm at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Bhubaneswar.A meeting was called by the Standing Parliamentary Committee comprising 20 Honble Members of Parliament from both Lok Shabha and Rajya sabha headed by its Chairperson Ms Dona Sen and from Odisha Ms Anita Subhadarshini Honble Member of Parliament from Aska Lok Shabha constituency who is also in the standing committee of Ministry of Commerce was from Odisha.At the behest of President UCCIL Dr Prabodh Mohanty CA Giridhari Lal Sharma Vice President (G) UCCIL and Dr Sanjeev Mahapatra Hony Secretary UCCIL represented UCCIL and gave a deliberation on behalf of UCCIL.They also submitted an Memorandum to the Chairperson of the Standing Parliamentary Committee and also to Ms Anita Subhadarshini Honble Member of Parliament Aska and Member of Standing committee Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.The Parliamentary Committee basically toured three States namely Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Raipur Chhattisgarh and Bhubaneswar Odisha to study Indo US TRADE Relation by interacting with various Stakeholders. There were representation from SAIL represented by Dr Ashok Kumar Panda CMD SAIL , Mr Alex Thomas Resident Director JSL, Representation from ED NALCO, Vedanta, Aditya Birla HINDALCO in fact all major corporates both PSUs and Private participated there were also representation from CII, FICCI AND ICC.From the Association only UCCIL and CII were allowed to express their views . Overall UCCIL created a sound impact by its deliberation and Participation. We interacted and Invited CMD SAIL Dr Ashok Kumar Panda on behalf of President UCCIL to visit and interact with our members which he gladly accepted . On 22nd May 2026 at 4pm a Round Table Workshop was held between Esteemed Members of UCCIL and KIITS Deemed University to strengthen ties in the following areas Reskilling and Upskilling of High Level Tailor made Training Programs, Providing Support in terms of Technical manpower from ITI to Engineering Graduates as per need, Industry led R&D optimisation keeping in view the competitive Scenario and Strategic development of supply chain management & Product Management.The Round Table Workshop was spearheaded by Dr Prabodh Mohanty President UCCIL and Dr Ajay Pradhan Director KIITS and Chairman KIITS Incubation centre.Prominent who attended were Vice Chancellor KIITS &KISS , CMD Oil India,Ex Director TATA MOTORS, Shri Tareni Prasad Mohanty Additional Director UCCIL, Shri Gyana Ranjan Mohanty Chairman MSME Committee, Shri Ali Kishore Patnaik Advisor UCCIL Board, Shri Kanhu Ranjan Prusty Hony Joint Treasurer, Dr Sanjeev Mahapatra Hony Secretary UCCIL along with senior members like Mr Shashi Samal and other Esteemed Members.The Round Table Workshop was extremely useful and Participatory which has laid a foundation for a future Roadmap between UCCIL and KIITS.

On 16th May 2026 a workshop was held at 6pm at UCCIL Recreation Center On " Ease of Doing Business and Unlocking values leveraging AI and Digital" .The workshop was conducted by PWC spearheaded by Dr Prabodh Mohanty President UCCIL.Setting the context Dr Prabodh Mohanty President UCCIL emphasised the role of Digitisation and use of AI in mining and manufacturing.There were two panel discussion and the panelists in the first panel discussion " Green Metal and Resilient Mining " and the panelists were Er S.S Mohanty CEO & MD Essar Minmet, MR Pawan Somani President and Head Essel Mining, Mr Kalyan Banerjee Chief Sustainability officer JSL, Mr Gaurav Sharma CMO Facor and the moderation was done by Mr Sandeep Mohanty Partner PWC. This was followed by a talk on " Leadership Insights - Transformation Mindset for Business Excellence" by Soumik Goswami Partner and Market Leader PWC India this was followed by a talk on Industry X unveiled - Mining and Power Generation by Dr Prabodh Mohanty President UCCIL who emphasised on how Digitization and use of AI in his mines SNM has helped in increasing efficiency in operations and Execution.This was followed by another Panel Discussion " Next Age Manufacturing with AI/ Industry the panelists were Mr Saunak Gupta CFO IMFA, Mr Gagan Bihari Swain Director Finance OPGC , Mr Ghanashyam Parida Head Projects Odisha AN/MS and Mr Kalyan Banerjee Chief Sustainability officer JSL.The Workshop ended with Closing Remark and Vote of Thanks by Dr Sanjeev Mahapatra Hony Secretary UCCIL followed by Net working Dinner hosted by SNM GROUP Coordinated by Shri Narayan Kumar Hony Treasurer and Director UCCIL
