Celebrating Success!

SOCH (Society for Children) successfully concluded its 90-Day Residential Education Bridge Course for 20 girl children from underserved slum communities in Bhubaneswar.

The Closing Ceremony was graced by Mr. Golok Bihari Singh, Chairperson & Governing Body Member, SOCH; Mr. Gobardhan Biswal, Treasurer, SOCH; Dr. Debasish Mohapatra, Professor, KIIT University; Mr. Chinmaya Prasad Sahu, Engineer, Infosys; Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Behera, Advocate, Orissa High Court; and Mrs. Indira Pattanayak, Retired Assistant Professor (Reader), Sanskrit, who inspired the children to pursue education with confidence and determination.

A heartfelt thank you to our guests, supporters, staff, and everyone who made this initiative a success. Together, we are building brighter futures for every child.

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, we organized awareness meetings on 26th June 2026 in different slum communities of Bhubaneswar with children and their parents to promote a drug-free lifestyle and spread awareness about the harmful effects of addiction.
Children actively participated in a drawing competition on the theme "Say No to Drugs – Stop Drug Abuse", expressing their thoughts and creativity in support of a drug-free society.
We also participated in the district-level awareness programme organized by the DSSO, reaffirming our commitment to building a healthy, safe, and addiction-free society.

The doctors from Hi-Tech conducted a dental checkup camp at our Jatani campus for the well-being of our camp children. During the initial screening, some dental issues were identified, and accordingly, both children and staff were taken to Hi-Tech Hospital for further checkups and treatment. All children received comprehensive health checkups and free treatment at the hospital.

Our heartfelt thanks to Hi-Tech for their dedicated efforts and valuable time in ensuring the health and welfare of our children.

The Rakshak Team conducted a collaborative awareness session with CTS staff at Khurda Railway Station in the presence of the Supervisor, CHI, staff members, and representatives from SOCH.
The session focused on child protection at railway stations, especially identifying and supporting vulnerable children on platforms. Real-life case stories were shared to highlight the importance of timely referrals and collective action in ensuring child safety.

🌱 **REACH Project Successfully Launched in Keonjhar District!**

We are happy to share that the **REACH (Rural Education, Awareness, Counselling & Health) Project** has been successfully launched in **Kapundi GP, Saharapada Block, Keonjhar District**.

Over a productive **5-day field visit**, our team conducted awareness and engagement sessions across five villages: **Kapundi, Chutiaposi, Karanjipada, Khajuridiha, and Dhanabeni**.

The initiative connected with **women, children, youth, and farmers**, focusing on important topics like **education, health, social awareness, counselling, and community development**.

The enthusiastic participation from the community has laid a strong foundation for sustainable impact and positive transformation. Together, we move forward towards empowered rural communities. 💚

**3-Month Residential Education Bridge Girls Camp for School Dropout Children**

**Under the Program Punarjivan**

On April 17, 2026, the 14th edition of the **3-Month Residential Education Bridge Girls Camp** commenced at SOCH’s Rehabilitation Centre in Jatni. A total of **20 children** from various slum areas of Bhubaneswar have been enrolled in this camp.

The primary objective of this camp is to support school dropout children in returning to the formal education system. Over the next three months, the participants will engage in **7 hours of daily classroom learning**, focusing on three core subjects — **Mathematics, English, and Odia**.

Stay connected for further updates as Team Punarjivan continues its mission to empower these children and pave the way for their successful reintegration into formal education.
