World Water Day Celebration at Gayalbanka Lake – 22nd March 2026 💧

Kalinga Kusum Foundation (KKF) proudly celebrated World Water Day 2026 at the beautiful Gayalbanka Lake, bringing together the community for a meaningful and inspiring event focused on water conservation and collective responsibility.

The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from local women SHG members and school children, who led a vibrant rally around the lake, spreading awareness about the importance of water and its sustainable use. Their energy and commitment reflected the growing community ownership towards protecting our natural resources.

The event also included an engaging meeting where participants shared their thoughts on water conservation, gender roles in water management, and the importance of community-led initiatives. It was heartening to see women and young minds actively contributing ideas for a better and water-secure future.

A proud Navodayan and Ravenshawvian, Mr. Paresh Sahu is an Agriculture Graduate from OUAT and Management Postgraduate from IBS Hyderabad, bringing over 24 years of diverse experience across corporate, banking, startup, and CSR domains.

He joins Kalinga Kusum Foundation (KKF) as our CEO, aligning with our vision to deepen impact through financial inclusion, efficient management, social enterprise innovations, and an agricultural revolution that empowers communities and drives sustainable growth.

We are deeply thankful to our donor partner for giving us the opportunity to set a new record by planting the highest-ever number (102458) of saplings in a single day — with a strong focus on survival through proper fencing and irrigation, not just planting for the sake of numbers. Proud of our dedicated team and local NGO partners for making this possible. This milestone is part of our ambitious 2.8 million tree plantation drive to be completed by December this year.

24th October 2025, 2:00 PM Update:
Across 12 districts, over 38,700 saplings have already been planted with the active participation of 115 farmers, covering nearly 300 acres of land under agroforestry initiatives.

Kalinga Kusum Foundation (KKF), in partnership with Infosys and a network of local NGO partners, is proud to spearhead the movement across Odisha.

On 24th October 2025, KKF and its partners will undertake large-scale agroforestry plantation drives across multiple districts, mobilizing farmers, women Self Help Groups (SHGs), youth volunteers, and Panchayati Raj Institutions in a united effort to regenerate landscapes, restore biodiversity, and strengthen rural livelihoods.

On the occasion of the 75th birthday of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, KKF proudly planted over 75,000 saplings across 21 districts of Odisha yesterday under the initiative.

This milestone was achieved under the visionary leadership of our founder and mentor, Hon’ble MP Shri Sujeet Kumar ji.
