A child may remember a hygiene message for a day.
But a daily routine can shape a lifetime.

In many schools and Anganwadi Centres, children can tell us why handwashing matters.
The bigger question is; Do they get enough opportunities to practise it until it becomes a habit?

Because healthy habits are not built through one conversation. They grow through repeated practice, supportive teachers, peer learning, and everyday routines.

Through our Village Resource Centres in Balangir, Odisha, NYDHEE is partnering with schools and Anganwadi Centres to create spaces where children don't just learn about hygiene—they practise it.

Today, this effort reaches:
- 11 schools
- 12 Anganwadi Centres
- 750+ children

Because lasting change is not measured by the sessions we conduct. It is measured by the habits that remain when the session is over.

A Step Towards Healthier Communities🩺👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

NYDHEE organized a Free Health & Eye Check-up Camp at its Head Office, Bhimatangi, Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with the Apollo Medical Team and Eye Meera Medical Team.

The camp provided community members across all age groups with access to general health screening, eye examinations, and medical consultations, helping promote preventive healthcare and early detection of health concerns.

At NYDHEE, we believe that accessible healthcare is fundamental to building healthier and stronger communities.

✨One goat. One opportunity. A lifetime of possibilities✨

Meet Puja Singh from Chaulaghari village, Mayurbhanj.

What began with a single goat provided through the NYDHEE Goat Bank initiative has grown into a thriving herd of twelve goats, increasing her family's income by nearly 400% and creating a more secure future for her children.

Today, goat rearing is not just an income source - it's a pathway to dignity, savings, self-reliance, and hope.

This success story is part of the SoCCs-NOURISH Project, supported by SCI (Social Capital Initiatives) DBA Asia Initiatives and implemented by NYDHEE in Mayurbhanj district.

💚 Alongside livelihood support, we are also working to improve nutrition outcomes for tribal women and families through regular nutritious meal interventions.

🌱 WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2026 🌱

"Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, community members across the SoCCS implementation sites in Mayurbhanj district came together under the NYDHEE initiative of the SoCCS Project, supported by Asia Initiatives (DBA) Social Capital Initiatives (SCI), to participate in a Seed Ball Preparation Activity.

This collective effort reflects the communities’ commitment to environmental conservation, biodiversity restoration, and climate resilience. By preparing and dispersing seed balls, participants are contributing to greener landscapes and a healthier future for generations to come.

Small actions, when driven by community spirit, can create lasting environmental impact.

From Cracked Earth to Community Movement!

In drought-prone Bolangir, Odisha, summer once meant cracked lands and failed crops. Today, the farmers of Ainlabhata village are rewriting their story.

To tackle severe water and heat stress, NYDHEE promoted Village Resource Centre introduced grafted brinjal cultivation. The plants showed exceptional survival and robust growth, even in harsh summer conditions.

Inspired by the results, farmer Parameswar Patel mobilized ten neighboring households. By preparing organic handi compost from local materials and sharing it freely, he helped spark a community-led shift toward sustainable agriculture.
