We are conducting medical/ scientific research on the use of medicinal Cannabis which will benefit India and its citizens and also create an awareness about the effectiveness of Cannabis as a medicine. The Aims of Objectives of MCFI are:
* To carry out scientific research regarding the chemistry, pharmacology, therapeutic uses, toxicology and the behavioural, psychological and social effects of me
dicinal Cannabis and to serve as a reliable source of information thereon.
*To commence, organize, support and operate diverse research-based collaborations with other medical institutions concerning harm reduction, safety and efficacy of using medicinal Cannabis.
*To promote the exchange of scientific information and perceptions about medicinal Cannabis through organization of scientific meetings and to commence and organize Educational, Academic and Public activities in regards to safe use of Cannabis.
*To research into the efficacy and safety associated with the use of medicinal Cannabis and to support medicinal Cannabis to treat chronic diseases and its use as a therapy to alleviate symptoms of pain and fatigue.
*To promote a regulated community based approach to medicinal Cannabis and to support medicinal Cannabis dispensaries for providing the highest quality of patient care.
*To provide within the regulatory framework medicinal Cannabis products to legitimate patients with valid medical needs.
*To cultivate Cannabis plant for medicinal and scientific purpose, strictly in terms of the Indian laws subject to obtaining necessary permissions/ licenses.
*To develop protocols and guidelines for educating patients and care-takers.
*To train and lecture doctors, nurses and other medical staffs.
*To develop a counselling strategy for patients and care-takers.
*To support public health in regards to ways of administration, dosing, side effects and other elements related with medicinal Cannabis.
*To organize and manage a nationwide platform for patients' education concerning safe and efficient usage of medicinal Cannabis.
*To present before the appropriate Government and other authorities, the extensive research work undertaken nationally and internationally and also the research work of MCFI on the healing properties of medicinal Cannabis with an aim to get the same approved and recognized by the Indian authorities paving the way for their beneficial use in India.
*To encourage the discovery of and investigate into the processes and inventions which may be beneficial in bringing out, establishing and proving the beneficial uses of medicinal Cannabis.
*To collect and disseminate information regarding research already undertaken nationally/ internationally in the fields of medicinal use of Cannabis.
*To produce, print, publish, purchase, sell, circulate, distribute and exhibit books, periodicals, journals, booklets, bulletins, calendars, message cards, other certificates, photographs, audio and video disks, slides, titles, documentaries and records which will assist and/ or promote the objects of MCFI.
*To co-operate with, assist, allocate work together or amalgamate wholly or partially with other societies, organizations, trusts, bodies or institutions having aims similar to those of MCFI for a wider and fuller achievement of these objectives.
*To establish, takeover, run, maintain, assist and support hospitals, including mobile hospitals, charitable dispensaries, maternity homes, sanatoriums, medical centres, medical camps, health education and family planning centres and any other children welfare centres, natural health centres, nutrition centres and any other institution or forum for preventive, curative or primary health-care and treatment.
