Government of Odisha and Bhubaneswar Development Authority with their joint effort had set up a Children’s Park in the year 2005 and latter handed over to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. From the date of its inception with effect from the year 2005, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation entrusted the day to day maintenance of the park on PPP mode to Sailashree Vihar Women’s Association. Vihar Women's Association main objective is to look after day to day maintenance of Sailashree vihar Children's Park formed by BDA in the year 2005 and focus on main areas of societal development like Education, Healthcare, Environment and Women Empowerment. Members of SVWA celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March 2026 with much pomp and gaiety. The theme for this year international women's day was "Women's Education and Societal Values". The guest of honour for the function were Smt. Jasodhara Pradhan, Corporator, Ward VII, Sailashree vihar, Dr. Nanda Dwivedi, Ayurveda, Shri Sushant Rout, MLA, North Zone. The meeting highlighted the importance of and their role in shaping society through granting freedom from the shackles of British rule "Praja Andolan" and pioneering in setting up educational institutions such as Sailabala Women's College. Sailashree Vihar Women's Association successfully celebrated the on 8th March 2025. This year the for the women's day program was "Role of Women in shaping Human Values". The program was addressed by esteemed panelist and Guest of Honour for the programme were Smt. Sushree Rekha Mohanty, Principal Maharshi Women's College, Smt. Bijayalakshmi Mishra, Former Principal, Chetna Public School, Dr. Jharana Swain, Government Counsellor, Bhubaneswar Family Court, Smt. Preeti Nanda Routray, Corporator, Ward No. VI and Mrs. Jasodhara Pradhan, Corporator Ward No. VII, Sailashree vihar. The guests in their address emphasized that women are the source of strength and responsible for bringing healthy change in the society through imparting values in home. The Sailashree Vihar Women's Association celebrated the 76th Republic Day today in the Sailashree Vihar Children's Park. The 76th Republic Day reminds India a land of "tapa (penance)" and "tyaga (sacrifice)" bhumi. Since time immemorial saints, sages and freedom fighters have been protecting this country. To be born in this country is a matter of pride for every Indian and you proudly claim your identity. The sound of drumbeats and triumphant remind us to become responsible citizen and contribute in every possible manner to bring glory to this motherland. When you see this small kids dancing, singing you see the future of India! Jai Hind!
