🌊 Odisha Flood Response 2026 | Jajpur

🤝 Listening. Protecting. Including.

As part of the ongoing flood response, our team conducted Protection Meetings at Gopakula and Brahmacharipatna, creating a safe space for communities to discuss safety, rights, safeguarding, and their concerns.

📦 A Suggestion Box was installed at Brahmacharipatna, providing community members with a confidential channel to share their feedback and suggestions.

👥 Feedback and Selection Committees were also formed at Patri and Dovabil, strengthening community participation, transparency, and accountability in the response.

Together, we are ensuring that every voice matters and every affected community is heard, included, and protected.💙

Many thanks to honble MLA and Corporator madam for your presence and encouraging words. In 2025 on the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day we from Aaina launched a campaign named Inclusive Periods Friendly City in association with WRI India and BMC and the campaign was launched by Honble DyCM madam Prabhati Padida along with the then Secretary DWCD Ms. Shubha Sharma. 3 toilets were made inclusive and periods friendly in the city and with this would like to request BMC to replicate the efforts in all public toilets at least in Bhubaneswar. And urging the Housing & Urban Development Department, Govt. of Odisha to replicate this effort accross all cities to make the public amenities inclusive and periods friendly.

Aaina, with WRI India, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation & foundation botnar, has made public toilets at Indira Gandhi Park, Railway Station & Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar accessible and period-friendly.
Adolescents, including those with disabilities, led the assessment. Listening to young people = safer, more inclusive public spaces

🌊 Volunteer Orientation for Jajpur Flood Response 🤝

As part of the Odisha flood response in Jajpur, a volunteer orientation session was conducted on 17 & 18 aug 2026 at Jajpiur to prepare and strengthen our team for effective community support during this difficult time.

The orientation focused on volunteer roles and responsibilities, community engagement, safety protocols, protection and safeguarding,Health camp,DisabilityIdentification, inclusion of vulnerable groups, and transparent relief support.

Our volunteers were encouraged to work closely with affected communities, listen to their needs, ensure dignity and inclusion.

On its 28th year of service to humanity Aaina started it's much awaited community radio project Radio Aaina 88.4FM - the voice of Ghumusar at Bhanjanagar one of its oldest project location.

Aaina celebrated its 28th Inception Day with our Executive Members and staff in Bhubaneswar. It was a day of celebration, reflection, and gratitude as we looked back on Aaina's inspiring journey and the countless lives we have touched over the past 28 years.

The gathering also provided an opportunity to discuss and plan for the upcoming Foundation Day Celebration, reaffirming our shared vision and unwavering commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and empowered society.
