Kalakunj Foundation, under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana and with the support of the Municipal Corporation, conducted an awareness session under the “Nirmaya Abhiyan” at Parewa Kheda Basti, Lambakheda (Bhopal). The session was organized for girls from Classes 6 to 8, focusing on menstrual hygiene and health awareness.
Through Menstrupedia Comics, menstruation was explained as a natural biological process. The students were educated about hygiene practices, the importance of using cotton sanitary pads, iron-rich nutrition, and avoiding medicines without medical consultation. Even today, many young girls hesitate to discuss menstruation with their fathers or brothers due to social stigma, and this session helped break those barriers and misconceptions.
At the end of the session, 42 adolescent girls were provided with free sanitary pads and Menstrupedia comic books to encourage awareness and confidence regarding menstrual health.Kalakunj Foundation, under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana and with the support of the Municipal Corporation, conducted an awareness session under the “Nirmaya Abhiyan” at Parewa Kheda Basti, Lambakheda (Bhopal).
