🌱 From Chemicals to Greens: Manubai's Natural Farming Revolution 🌱

Meet Shrimati Manubai, a determined farmer from Amala village, Madhya Pradesh, who turned her land into a beacon of sustainability! 🌿💚

Once reliant on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, Manubai made a bold shift to natural farming in July 2023. Using cow dung compost and herbal pest repellents like neem & datura, she transformed her fields into a thriving oasis—without harmful chemicals! 🚜✨

The impact? A cost-effective, pesticide-free harvest and a growing income of Rs. 10,000-12,000 per month, doubling her previous earnings. But the change didn’t stop there—her journey inspired farmers from neighboring villages to embrace organic farming, fueling a local green revolution! 🌾🔥

With dreams of multi-layer farming, fish ponds, and goat farming, Manubai is proving that when you grow with nature, you grow for a healthier future. 🌍💪

Let's celebrate her incredible journey & support sustainable agriculture! 🥦🥕🌾

*Empowering Mothers, Empowering Children*

At Samavesh, we believe that a child's learning journey doesn't end at school. The home environment plays a crucial role in their growth and development.

In underprivileged bastis, children spend only 4-5 hours in government schools and a few hours in our Activity Learning Centres (ALCs). The remaining 14-16 hours are spent with their families, where mothers can make a significant impact.

However, mothers in these bastis often lack the education and confidence to support their children's learning. That's where we come in - Samavesh is working to break this mindset and empower mothers to take an active role in their children's education.

We're guiding and supporting families, helping them realize the importance of their involvement in their children's learning journey. Because when mothers are empowered, children thrive!

Happy Independence Day
Unfurling the True Meaning of Freedom!

"At our Activity Learning Centre (ALC), children are enthusiastically creating flags using three colors, sparking a thoughtful discussion about the significance of each hue.

But amidst the excitement, a crucial question arises: Are we truly grasping the essence of freedom?

As we celebrate Aazadi ka festivities, let's delve deeper into its true meaning. Freedom isn't just a word or a symbol; it's a feeling, a right, and a responsibility.

Let's educate ourselves and the younger generation about the sacrifices made to achieve independence and the power of freedom to shape our lives".

Storytelling Comes alive with Puppets!

"At our Activity &Learning Centres (ALCs), we're using storytelling to educate and engage our young learners in a fun and interactive way!

Today, we started with the classic tale "Billi ke Teen Bache" (Three Little Kittens). After listening to the story, our Chote Guruji's (CGs) had a lively discussion, exploring the plot, characters, and moral.

But that's not all! They then brought the story to life by creating their own puppets, showcasing their creativity and skills.

Using puppets in storytelling makes learning more effective, engaging, and memorable. It's amazing to see our CGs evolve their skills, from listening and discussing to creating and performing!

Kudos to our young storytellers and puppeteers!

Questioning the Unknown, Empowering Young Minds!

At Samavesh, we believe in encouraging curiosity and critical thinking among our young leaders!

Recently, at our Activity Guidance Centre-Daamkheda, our Chote Guruji's engaged in a thought-provoking discussion on the book "Baste Mein Sawal" (Questions in the Bag-Eklavya Pitara, author: Lokesh Malti Prakash).

They raised important questions about societal norms, customs, and beliefs, such as:

- What is the basis of caste and religion?
- Why do we follow certain traditions without questioning?
- Why are girls expected to do household chores and not boys?

Our team, led by Anjali Naronha, facilitated a discussion on these questions, encouraging the Chote Guruji's to think deeply and seek answers.

We're proud to see our young leaders questioning the status quo and seeking knowledge!

Empowering Young Leaders in Bhopal's Bastis!

"Meet our Chote Guruji's and Chote Ustad's - young changemakers in the making!

At Samavesh, we're committed to building their capacity to become active and responsible members of their communities. Our goal is to empower them to take up social roles and responsibilities, ensuring a brighter future for themselves and those around them.

Here's what we aim to achieve:

- 400 adolescents will help run 40 Activity and Learning Centres for 1200 younger children
- They'll develop strong study skills to complete secondary and Higher Secondary school, tackling the 23% dropout rate
- At least 300 will become mentors, helping children master basic math and language skills

To track their progress, our team recently conducted baseline tests for our Chote Guruji's. We're excited to see their growth and development!

Join us in nurturing these young leaders and creating a positive impact in Bhopal's bastis!

Empowering Change, One Survey at a Time!

"At Samavesh, we're committed to creating a supportive ecosystem for vulnerable children in Bhopal's bastis. Our team has taken the first step towards achieving our goal by conducting door-to-door surveys in 40 identified locations!

Why surveys, you ask? Because understanding the community's needs and challenges is crucial to developing effective solutions. Our surveys help us:

- Identify vulnerable children and their families
- Gather data on education and health status
- Inform our program design and interventions
- Measure progress and impact

With this data, we'll be able to provide targeted support to children and extend our reach to an additional, focusing on education and health vulnerabilities.

Hands-on Learning with a Twist!

"Our Science Van is taking learning to the next level in Bhopal's slum bastis!

Children at our Activity Learning Centres (ALCs) are getting an exclusive opportunity to explore the human body's fascinating systems using a life-sized torso model!

They're moving beyond textbooks and lectures, experiencing firsthand how their own bodies work, and making connections to the world around them.

Through interactive discussions and activities, they're developing logical thinking skills, understanding cause-and-effect relationships, and discovering the factors that impact their bodies' processes.

By making learning experiential and fun, we're empowering these young minds to think critically, ask questions, and seek answers!
