Yesterday, the YoungShala team travelled to Vidisha for an exposure visit. And it reminded us that education doesn't just change one life, changes the future of generations!! We met young girls who are first generation learners, who are experiencing life that so many women in their family haven't.

We spent the day in a space where children are growing with confidence, curiosity, and the freedom to imagine futures on their own terms and not futures limited by the caste they are born into.

And somewhere in between all the conversations, we found ourselves on a kabaddi ground. And to be honest, we were a little hesitant. The children challenged us and they meant business. :)

We have come back with kindness, and future that Savitribai Phule saw for women! We are happy that we met them and they left us with questions we didn't know existed.

YoungShala is back with another Rubaru.

This Disability Pride Month, we invite you to come rubaru with the conversation on disability and inclusion. For far too long, disability has been seen through the lens of limitation, while the barriers created by our society have remained invisible. Our schools, streets, workplaces, and public spaces continue to exclude when they are designed without considering the diversity of people who use them.
The question is not whether people can fit into the world we have built. The question is: why have we built a world that leaves so many people out?
Join us as we confront the biases we carry, challenge the systems that exclude, and rethink the way we design our spaces, institutions, and communities. Because when exclusion is created by design, inclusion must also be created by design.

As young people begin taking action, they are slowly becoming a source of support within their community...helping families access essential documents, guiding neighbours through government processes, and creating spaces for conversations that inspire change. Every visit, every discussion, and every effort strengthens trust and reminds us that meaningful change grows through consistency. There is still a long way to go, but each step taken together brings the community closer to dignity, access to rights, and a future shaped by collective action.

YoungShala's movie club is back with another movie!!!

Join us on *27 June, from 2 PM onwards at Youngshala*, for a screening of Sitaare Zameen Par. Full of laughter, emotions, and empathy, the film celebrates friendship, kindness, and the joy of embracing differences. It reminds us that everyone has their own strengths and shines in their own unique way. Come with your friends and join us for an afternoon of reflection.

This initiative, led by YoungShala volunteers, aims to strengthen community support through blood donation. It seeks to build a network of people across Bhopal who are willing to step forward and donate blood when needed. By ensuring timely access to blood during emergencies, this initiative strives to support those in need while fostering a spirit of compassion, participation, and collective responsibility within the community.

As YoungShala expands to a new location, we carry forward the reflections, questions, and learnings that emerged from our time in PC Nagar. Through the perspectives of young people, we encountered questions of belonging, aspiration, public space, gender, caste, and recognition. Their stories challenged dominant narratives and revealed the many layered realities that often remain unseen.

Join us as we travel to a new neighbourhood, continue listening to young people, and explore the stories, questions, and possibilities that emerge along the way.
