Homeless mothers and her pups. 🐾
She has no shelter, no certainty — but every morning she stands between her pups and the world.
And then there’s the other mother — the aunty with the steel bowl, the didi who calls the vet, the woman who leaves water outside her shop because she knows they’re thirsty.

This is Veera. वीरा — meaning brave in Hindi. And he is.

When we found him, he was missing a leg. His hip was broken. His wounds were full of maggots. A kid hearted lady tried to help before calling us.

A lot of people don't see Indie dogs. A lot of people walk past. We understand. The streets are hard, and there are so many.

But once you stop — once you really look — you see something most people miss. You see how much fight is in them. How much they want to live, even when life has given them every reason not to.

Veera has been with us for several days now. His wounds are being dressed daily. His pain is being managed. He's eating on his own from the bowl — slowly, deliberately, one mouthful at a time.

He still has a long road ahead.

Every night, in the streets of Ara, dinner gets served.
Hundreds of community Indie dogs. Hot rice, daal, eggs, dog food — cooked in one steady kitchen, carried street to street. No dog goes to sleep hungry.
But the kitchen runs on what people give. Each month it takes:
🍚 500 kg rice
🌾 300 kg atta
🥣 120 kg dog food (6 × 20 kg bags)
🔥 8–10 cooking gas cylinders
🥚 Curd, eggs, daal — fresh, daily

From a Streetlight to the Sun: Rocky's 59 Days
The first photograph we have of Rocky was taken at night on Katira Road, Arrah. He was alone. He was starving. He couldn't lift his head much.
That was March 6.
Over the next 59 days, our team brought him in, treated severe mange that had taken nearly all of his fur, fed him back to a healthy weight, and watched a wary, beaten-down dog become curious again. Then social. Then bright-eyed. Then this — the dog you see at the end of this reel, standing in the morning sun, calm enough to look right at the lens.
Rocky's story isn't unusual. What's unusual is having the resources to see it through.
Every recovery — every vaccination, every sterilization, every month of mange treatment — is paid for by people who decided that an animal they will never meet was worth helping anyway.

Today, one of the key members of our NGO, Sunita Kumari ji, lost her mother around 5 AM. Her mother passed away at their native place, while Sunita ji was in Ara.

Even during this painful moment, she continued to care for the dogs, manage shelter responsibilities, and support the cause with full dedication. She did not let anyone know about her loss and kept working quietly.

This shows her deep love for animals and her strong commitment to the mission. In such an adverse situation, her dedication did not weaken.

We stand with Sunita Kumari ji in this difficult time and pray for strength for her and her family. Her courage and compassion inspire all of us.
