Introduction:
Founded on February 20, 2009, with a resolute commitment, Bhadreswar Netradarpan Welfare Foundation, a NGO, embarked on a mission to eradicate blindness and alleviate eye-related ailments. Our unwavering determination is echoed in our alignment with the National Program for Control of Blindness with Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), focusing on serving marginalized rural and tribal commu
nities. Over the years, we have relentlessly pursued our goal to make quality eye care accessible to all, regardless of their socio-economic status. About Us:
At the heart of our foundation lies the pursuit of providing comprehensive eye care services to the underprivileged. Through regular eye screening and awareness camps across remote regions of West Bengal, we bridge the gap for those who lack access to proper eye care facilities. Our base flagship "Netradarpan Hospital" in Bhadreswar - has been a pillar of hope, facilitating necessary treatments and surgeries. Our efforts are not just confined to medical services; we also utilize street plays and awareness movements to educate communities about eye health and donation. Our Activity over the Years:
Our journey has seen us organizing numerous eye screening and awareness camps, collaborating with esteemed institutions like RIO Kolkata and government bodies to deliver essential eye care services to underserved regions. A focal point of our work has been addressing cataract cases, with the foundation facilitating free cataract surgeries at various tag hospitals and currently at our base hospital, for those unable to afford the treatment. Amid the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we didn't falter. Instead, we conducted over 2000 eye surgeries for the vulnerable when conventional hospitals faced limitations. Our participation in the State Government's "Chokher Alo" program enabled us to raise awareness about COVID-19 vaccination, dispelling misconceptions among rural and tribal populations. Latest Events and Milestones/Achievements
With great pride, we announce the inauguration of "Netradarpan Hospital" on August 15, 2022 - the 75th Independence Day. This momentous day symbolized our commitment to offer independence from blindness to those who cannot access traditional hospitals. We have further extended our reach through a partnership with Serampore Municipality, broadening our support to the underprivileged beyond our base locale. Collaborating with IPGMER & SSKM Hospital Eye Bank, we're now an Eye Retrieval Center (ERC), contributing to the cause of eye donation and transplantation. This alliance signifies our shared dedication to prevent blindness and improve eye health. As we look back, we celebrate conducting over 150 eye screening and awareness camps, ensuring that rural and tribal individuals receive the care they deserve. Bhadreswar Netradarpan Welfare Foundation remains steadfast in its mission, steadfastly illuminating lives and providing essential eye care to all, ensuring that no one is left behind.
