The organization believes in original concepts and its operational implementation in a pilot scale (in the beginning) by carefully managing the process of change. Over the years this has been achieved by empowering the . weaker sections and people oriented institutions . JKYS has enabled the masses to be self-reliant, self-supportive and productive amidst the challenges of the up-coming social, economic, cultural, educational and intellectual conditions. JKYS kept its mission to work through 'PEOPLE'S ORGANISATION" with Maximum participation and involvement of women. The objective was to create leadership among them who can act as change agents to mange individual and community matters and in turn can bring transformation in the social, economic and political milieu of the community. The next step was to achieve self-sufficiency by judiciously using and preserving locally available resources for a sustainable future. The third step was to increase the regenerating and carrying capacity of the area by not only preserving eco system but also by promoting eco-friendly activities like social forestry and agro-forestry. Lastly the whole activity was geared towards creating a sense of identity, as sense of importance , as sense of development and confidence among local inhabitants especially women through programmes of awareness not only on health, sanitation, education but also on duties and responsibilities of people relating to these. Now JKYS marches ahead with these missions creating a movement through People's Organization and with the unique approach of "Self-help movement". JKYS aims at empowering women particularly adolescents, youth and aged through community based organizations and has initiated the process of development by reducing poverty and brining changes in the form of economic growth, self reliance, overcoming inequality, democratization in decision making, emancipation and all these leading to empowerment of women in particular and poor masses in general in the rural pockets.
