Celebration of Farmers' Day (Kisan Diwas)
Kisan Diwas was celebrated on 23rd December at Moxie village with the enthusiastic participation of 103 farmers, along with key stakeholders, to promote awareness on sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
The program was graced by the presence of esteemed guests including Mr. Satish Singh Sir, Mr. Nitin Jaimini Sir, Mr. Sagar Kumar (ASI) Sir, and Dr. Bahubhai H. Patel, Retired Agricultural Scientist (Plant Protection).
The session began with an introduction to i-Pragati, focusing on its vision and objectives, supporting farmers through sustainable and innovative agricultural practices, and strengthening farmers' livelihoods using modern technologies. Drip irrigation was discussed as a key intervention, highlighting the importance of water conservation, efficient utilization of water resources, reduction in water wastage and input costs, and improvement in crop productivity and yield.
Farmers were also sensitized about the importance of "Jan, Zameen aur Jalvayu" (People, Land, and Climate), emphasizing sustainable land use, responsible water management, adaptation to changing climatic conditions, and ensuring long-term agricultural sustainability.
Additionally, the importance of neem leaves in agriculture was explained, focusing on natural and eco-friendly pest control, organic farming practices, reduced dependency on chemical pesticides, and improved soil health.
Overall, the celebration served as an informative and awareness-building platform for farmers, encouraging the adoption of sustainable farming practices and responsible natural resource management.
