MILTON CHARITABLE FOUNDATION FOR THE VISUALLY HANDICAPPED(MCFVH)
which literally means “a spirited team effort to work for the charity of the visually impaired community to fulfill the dream of John Milton to enable the visually impaired persons to write their fate on their own hand”. This voluntary organization, operational in the state of Orissa, India since 2004. The organization was
conceived as an effort of few socially sensitive visually challenged students who came from different backgrounds, charged with the vision of working with the vulnerable sections of the society and address issues giving rise to such vulnerabilities. In this context the persons with disability, children and women became the focal point of various operations of the organization. Since disability has been the major focus, right from its inception, MCFVH has concentrated its energies and resources for the upliftment of the persons with disability, of making them self-sufficient and above all raising their morale, of making them realize of their hidden potentialities and standing by their side to show them the path of esteem and dignity. This organization is a state Cadre voluntary organization Founded on 21st March 2004. It has been working as a representative voice of the visually challenged community from its beginning. It was founded to tackle the major challenges in the field of education, training and employment. In 2010-11 this organization has exhibited many landmark events by conducting various programmes for the advancement of the disabled community.
