A Skill Enhancement Program was conducted on 11th April 2026 at KLE M.S. Sheshagiri College of Engineering and Technology, Belagavi, by the KLE Swashakti Empowerment Cell for Women.

The session was led by Ms. Rajani Rao and focused on the enhancement of soft skills, which play a vital role in creating a harmonious and productive work environment.

A proud and inspiring moment for the entire KLE Society family as the Swashakti Empowerment Cell for Women felicitated our respected Chancellor, Dr. Prabhakar Kore, along with Mrs Asha Kore tai, President of the Women’s Cell.

This celebration followed the prestigious recognition of the Padma Shri conferred by the Government of India for Dr. Prabhakar Kore sirs remarkable contributions to literature and education.

The felicitation was organised in a truly grand manner. Sir and Madam were warmly received at the entrance and escorted to the dais through vibrant performances by students from various constituent institutions of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research — ranging from Banyan School and PU College to the professional colleges.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion of International Women’s Day, sir spoke about the realities faced by many women, especially in rural areas, and emphasised the transformative power of education in uplifting and empowering them.

With great humility, sir dedicated his Padma Shri honour to his better half, Mrs Asha Kore Tai, acknowledging her unwavering support and describing her as the backbone of the family. He also proudly highlighted that today over 60% of employees in KLE institutions are women, reflecting the organisation’s strong commitment to women’s empowerment.

Sir concluded by expressing heartfelt appreciation to the Swashakti Cell for Women for organising such a thoughtful and memorable celebration.

Empowering women today means building a stronger and more progressive nation for tomorrow.

The KLE Swashakti Empowerment Cell for Women celebrated International Women’s Day on 10th March 2026 with an inspiring talk by Mrs Shefali Vaidya.

An award-winning multilingual author, columnist, and public speaker, Mrs. Vaidya is widely recognized for her work on Indian history, culture, and heritage. Her insightful and thought-provoking address inspired the audience and sparked meaningful reflections on the evolving role of women in society.

Her words beautifully reminded us that women are not merely participants in change — they are the powerful creators and drivers of change.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 1,200 faculty members across the constituent units of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, making the celebration truly impactful and memorable.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the respected faculty, attendees, and stakeholders whose support and presence made this gathering a meaningful celebration of empowerment and collective progress.

KLE’s Swashakti Women Empowerment Cell, in collaboration with the KAHER Cell for Women, organized a Comprehensive Health Check-up Camp for bank employees at KLE Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC on 8 March 2026, to mark International Women’s Day, reaffirming its commitment to preventive healthcare and employee well-being.

A team of medical professionals offered free consultations and screening services in Gynecology, Breast Cancer Screening, Ophthalmology, and Cervical Cancer Screening, along with laboratory investigations such as Hemoglobin estimation and Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing.

A total of 44 staff members from Canara Bank and Rani Chennamma Mahila Sahakari Bank benefited from the camp. In addition to consultations and screenings, free medicines were distributed, further strengthening the initiative’s impact in promoting health awareness and preventive care.

Cervical and Breast cancers remain among the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity in women. Creating awareness and promoting regular screening are crucial steps toward prevention and early detection.

The KAHER Cell for Women and KLE Society’s Swashakti Empowerment Cell, in collaboration with Maheshwari Mahila Sangh, Belagavi, successfully organized a Cervical cancer awareness and Breast Cancer Screening Camp on 17th February 2026. A total of 64 women participated in the camp. All screening reports were found to be negative.
In addition to screening, participants were educated on the importance and technique of Breast Self-Examination (BSE), empowering them with the knowledge to remain vigilant, proactive, and committed to their health.
Awareness today can truly save lives tomorrow.

KLE Society – Swashakti Empowerment Cell for Women commemorated National Girl Child Day on 24th January 2026 with meaningful and engaging initiatives aimed at promoting equality and empowerment.

On this occasion, two major programs were organized:

1. Essay Writing Competition
An essay writing competition was conducted for 8th and 9th standard students of Kannada medium schools across Belagavi city on the theme “Empowering Every Daughter, Building a Stronger India.”
The event saw enthusiastic participation from 117 students, showcasing thoughtful perspectives and a strong commitment among young minds towards equality, education, and empowerment of the girl child.

2. Debate Competition
A debate competition on the topic “Beyond the Glass Ceiling: Is Family Commitment a Real Barrier to Women’s Leadership?” was organized for students of constituent colleges of KLE Society at KLE VK Institute of Dental Sciences.
A total of 9 teams participated, with two members in each team — one speaking for the motion and the other against — leading to a dynamic and thought-provoking exchange of ideas.

The programs collectively reflected the institution’s commitment to nurturing awareness, leadership, and empowerment among young girls and women.
