Today, July 30, 2026—observed as World Anti-Human Trafficking Day—the BIRD Organization engaged with school students and teachers to discuss the significance of the occasion in depth. Through various activities involving Kanyashree students, teachers emphasized the need for heightened awareness among students—alongside people from all walks of life—to build a society free from human trafficking. Discussions also covered current legal frameworks and the role of administrative support. The Headmistress remarked that the message of vigilance and awareness must be carried in every heart—not just today, but every day—to ensure the success of the mission to create a safe childhood for all and a society free from trafficking.

With the collaboration of the Kolkata Sanhita Organization, an orientation program was conducted for all Anganwadi workers of the Baduria Block. The sessions covered the implementation of programs at the community level—specifically addressing the prevention of child marriage and child trafficking—as well as case management. Additionally, given their constant engagement at the grassroots level, the workers received orientation on the 'Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.' The CDPO and the Anganwadi workers alike considered this training to be both timely and effective.

At a workshop held at the Basirhat 'Pather Sathi' Conference Hall—attended by the SDLSC Secretary of Basirhat Court, the Public Prosecutor, District Advocates, and SDLSC lawyers—survivors of trafficking and r**e victims gained appropriate and timely guidance on securing justice and compensation through information sharing and Q&A sessions regarding procedural corrections and victim compensation.

On the occasion of World Yoga Day, the BIRD Organization observed the event in the Basirhat 1 Block in collaboration with local schools, involving school children as well as children from the community, in accordance with government directives.

On the occasion of International Women's Day in Basirhat 1 Block, Gachha Akharpur GP, the socially backward women in the community, in a joint effort with BIRD Organization, took a pledge to build a society, a pledge to build courage, a pledge to build a healthy society, a pledge to build an education, a pledge to protect women, to ensure women's safety, to prevent child labor, to prevent child marriage, and to build a society free from child trafficking.

Basirhat -1 Block, Gachha Akharpur GP *Community Youth Group came together through the *RAKHI BANDHAN FESTIVAL*. Through the Rakhi Bandhan, the sisters pledged to permanently eliminate social ills like child marriage, human trafficking and child labor from their society. In coordination with the community, NGOs and the government, they made a *strong commitment to build a safety net* with people from different walks of life to stop this work.

A campaign against child labour program was organized at Basirhat 1 Block, Gachha Akharpur GP Community level in collaboration with Basirhat Initiative for Rural Dedication (BIRD) and Sharam Nahi Shiksha Organisation. Everyone present there took away a message of awareness about the ill effects of child labour and its legal provisions and said that they would be aware of the need to prevent child labour in the future.
