SAFDF-Santali Art & Film Development Foundation The Santali Art and Film Development Foundation, Odisha, preserves and promotes tribal culture through film, art, and community engagement.

We organizes events like the Baripada National Indigenous Short Film Festival, and developmental workshops. Santali Art & Film Development Foundation (SAFDF) formerly named Santali Film & Art Development Association (SAFADAO) started out in July 2016 with an undeterred aim to create a space to unify all the artists, filmmakers working in the indigenous film industry and enable them to connect and

engage and to undertake steps to protect their interests. The underlying vision was to harness opportunities for the artists and therein cater to the progress of the film industry. SAFDF is devoted to preserving tribal heritage, art, and culture, and protecting and promoting the values of this priceless tribal heritage is one of its core principles. With this foresight, we are motivated to reiterate and promote the values of indigenous culture among the younger generations so the efforts can bear fruition in the times to come. We believe that collectively we can drive a positive change to accelerate the growth of this industry.

Official Announcement – 7th BISFF 2026

Due to certain technical reasons, the 7th Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival (BISFF) 2026 has to be rescheduled. We will announce new dates soon.

Sometimes, adjustments are necessary to ensure that the festival is organized in the best possible way.

We are proud to share a historic milestone. NFDC India is now supporting BISFF - Baripada National Indigenous Short Film Festival. A national door has opened for an Indigenous film festival from Mayurbhanj. This is a significant achievement for us and a moment of pride for Mayurbhanj and Odisha.
