ଭିକ ମାଗି କି ଆଣିଲେ ନୂଆଖାଇ ପାଳନ କରିବୁ, ନ ହେଲେ ଉପାସ । Nuakhai । Social Seva Foundation

Nuakhai is essentially an agricultural and harvest festival. Farmers offer the first harvested rice/new grain to the household deity or village deity before consuming it themselves. It represents gratitude for the harvest, nature, the land and the divine.
A family prepares the new rice and makes a special offering (Nabanna) to its presiding deity. In the Sambalpur region, Goddess Samaleswari has a particularly important connection with Nuakhai, with devotees offering newly harvested rice to her.
However, in some places, it has been observed that poor families are unable to celebrate this festival because they have neither food to eat nor the money to buy new clothes.
That is why I want to bring happiness to as many families as possible. I want to ensure that those families do not go hungry on that day.
